Comments about Kensington Portable Combination Laptop Lock (Black):

At large congress with many laptops that just need to be locked to the table, I did not want to buy expensive locks, and these just turn out to be the right thing. Their built is relatively acceptable for the price. Obviously considering this is a small deterrant to anyone wishing to walk away with the machine.

Comments about Kensington Portable Combination Laptop Lock (Black):

Our company requires us to lock our laptops at our work desks, or suffer "performance" downgrades - so I had a lock that used a key. Very awkward and problematic - mostly having to carry that key (difficult to do while working 'on-the-road' and using rental car keys, etc.). So seeing a lock with the combination was encouraging. Second thing I liked was the 'coiled' cord. This makes it easier to use and pack away when not using.

My main dislike is that the cord is not very long . . . I may decide I like that later - but for now, it's just short enough to where I can't put the laptop IN my lap (off of the desk top) due to how I have to anchor the cable and where I sit.
Secondly, I have a Lenovo laptop and the locking mechanism 'slot' is right next to the battery that extends out the back, making it impossible to position the lock & combination where I can see the combo and squeeze the button for release or 'set' (set doesn't matter because I already have the combination set). So it's a minor inconvenience.

I'd be for anyone or anything that got people honest where we didn't have to do this kind of thing any more.
