I love this thing. I do product design and illustration for a living and have been waiting for something that I can actually do work on while traveling. I run Photoshop, Zbrush and 3D studio max regularly and this little tablet works just fine on the go for all three. The pressure sensitivity of 512 levels had me a bit worried but its just fine. My work station is a maxed out Macbook Pro with a 21UX cintiq for drawing. When on-the-go I have been using an intuos 4 with the MBP and have been wishing I could draw on the screen while traveling but haven't found a good tablet yet that I felt was worth it. The Ipad is a great tool for on the go web surfing and word processing tasks etc but it is useless for this type of work. I am spoiled with the Cintiq but honestly really enjoy drawing with this EEE slate anywhere with no cords. There is obviously a performance difference between the MBP with a cintiq and this tablet but I expected it to be even more, this tablet is totally worth it and will be replacing my Mac for all travel for sure. Even Zbrush runs pretty well on this thing, I figured the integrated graphics card would be a killer but it looks great for a tablet like this. It has some redraw issues when rotating some higher poly models but totally workable and enjoyable to use. The only drawback from an artist point of view is the lack of buttons to use for hotkeys. It would be nice to have at least 3 or 4 that you could set for some of the basics. I got a mini bluetooth keyboard for this but is a bit ackward if you are used to a cintiq or intuos.
The battery life complaint I have seen around is true I suppose but again, it is not an Ipad, its a very good laptop with a wacom screen. I feel like the 4 hours is very reasonable and I wouldn't trade any performance for more battery thats for sure. Overall I think it is a great product in the right hands. If you are not planning to use it for design work or anything where the Wacom Digitizer is essential I would probably go with something else. Using it for note taking or web surfing is a bit of overkill and something with less power and longer battery life etc would probably be a wiser choice. But if you want to run photoshop or programs of that nature while away from your desk this thing is great.

The Slate is used for out of town business. The writing stylus is pretty intuitive and sensitive to pressure when drawing. Darker when pressed and lighter with less pressure. It is a bit bulky, but the screen size and quality is exceptional. However, the glass does show fingerprints quite a bit. If you use the stylus mostly, it will reduce the need to wipe.

Comments about ASUS 64GB Eee Slate EB121 Tablet (White):

We use the tablet for Quality Assurance tasks on the site of a large construction project where we are the Project Management team.
The tablet provides a lot of benefits over a regular laptop for being lightweight, fast and having an excellent display. The stylus allows us to "red-line" the engineering drawings on the spot for later reviews. It is a powerful addition to our toolbox.

Comments about ASUS 64GB Eee Slate EB121 Tablet (White):

This tablet is being used for marketing demos and replaced a much larger and bulkier laptop. Although not as light as some of the Android tablets, the power it packs makes up for it. We have some windows based applications and this is powerful enough to let us demo them. This has cut down on shipping expenses, weight, etc.

It is a little heavier than most tablets we have used, but this is due to the more powerful hardware.

Comments about ASUS 64GB Eee Slate EB121 Tablet (White):

        The best features are
        - it is Windows based,so runs all your familiar Windows apps, including graphics software products that are not common on other tablets
        - the screen has active digitizer mode with stylus, for fine artwork, as well as touchscreen mode for regular use
        - the 12" display gives ample size for art work as well as web browsing, emails, etc.

On the flip side, the weight AND cost is materially more than that of the android or ipad tablets. Hence four stars and not five.

In summary, it is a well-put-together specialized device that serves a niche market.

Comments about ASUS 64GB Eee Slate EB121 Tablet (White):

          This is a great tablet.
I bought this for doing design work remotely and so far it is doing a wonderful job.
The screen is awesome and really nice to draw on.
Runs Photoshop and other demanding programs really well. The battery life leaves a bit to be desired but I am willing to trade the shorter battery for a powerful windows portable. The battery life drops fast when you start running heavy programs. The 4.5 drops to around 3.
The Keyboard that comes with it is great for setting it up as you would a laptop but I bought a mini bluetooth one as well for traveling and working. I found the one that is included to be too big for me. I also purchased the Wacom penabled pen that has an additional button for right click. The one that comes with has no button. Just the eraser.
I would definitely recommend this to a friend that does similar design work. For just surfing the web or watching movies, taking notes etc I would probably recommend something less expensive with better battery life etc like the Ipad.

Comments about ASUS 64GB Eee Slate EB121 Tablet (White):

Looks and works GREAT, right out of the box. As with all new computers, it takes a while to get Windows completely updated. Solid State Drive is quick but because it is only 64GB, I added a 128GB SDHC card.

Touch Screen sensitivity is just right and works well. The handwriting recognition works best with printed lettering but is pretty accurate on cursive letters if your normal handwriting is somewhat legible. The WiFi and Bluetooth connections work great and the included Bluetooth keyboard is very compact but big enough for comfortable typing. If you want to use it as a desktop, you can but you will want a laptop wireless mouse to speed up selecting things on menus.

Comments about ASUS 64GB Eee Slate EB121 Tablet (White):

I ordered this unit to be used by one of our mobile technicians. It gets constant daily use and has yet to slow down or limit him or his productivity. Software that is constantly used is MS Office 2010, AutoCAD 2010LT, and a industry specific graphic package used for Fire Alarm design.

What we really like about the unit is that it offers all the funtionality of a full laptop in a much more portable package. The battery life seems to be holding throughout the day while going on and off the charger. The 4gb of memory seem to be enough to handle the daily workload. The HDMI connection works well with and external monitor allowing for viewing of larger drawings when needed.

The few things that I would like to see added or improved on are the amount of USB connections and maybe up the memory. Other than that, this unit has been simply awsome.

Comments about ASUS 64GB Eee Slate EB121 Tablet (White):

This Asus Slate is the best of all the tablets on the market right now, and it is the best of the Asus Slate line. Running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit OS and sporting a 64GB SSD, it is the perfect pc in a tablet form factor. I use this product for accessing servers remotely, doing document composition and revision, creating Visio flowcharts, doing demonstrations and presentations wired or wirelessly, video teleconferencing, and other tasks and applications that are not as easily accomplished on tablets running iOS or Android operating systems. For installing applications/software that may require more space than the 64GB SSD can accomodate, I use a 500GB external USB hard drive to install the applications/software to. When I need to run those apps, I simply plug in the small lightweight drive, and off I go. Running CD's or DVD's is equally easy with a slim portable USB CD/DVD drive. Travelling with the Slate is so much easier than lugging a laptop around, especially in airports. Connecting to the internet is simple with available Wifi networks, or with a MiFi or similar device. The Slate runs fast and has comparable battery life to a full size laptop. The screen resolution is incredible. The mini HDMI port is nice for connecting to projectors for wired presentations/demonstrations. The camera works well and has nice resolution. The ability to use either the included stylus or just using ones fingers for screen navigation and control is wonderful. The handwriting recognition feature is much more refined than previous versions of Windows OS's. Windows 7's ability to join a domain network is especially nice.

Use this system in my office for patient notes. The touch screen leaves a lot to be desired compared to the Ipad. To many times must tap two to three times for the action to happen. Not what I expected at this price point.

Comments about ASUS 64GB Eee Slate EB121 Tablet (White):

The Slate is used for out of town business. The writing stylus is pretty intuitive and sensitive to pressure when drawing. Darker when pressed and lighter with less pressure. It is a bit bulky, but the screen size and quality is exceptional. However, the glass does show fingerprints quite a bit. If you use the stylus mostly, it will reduce the need to wipe.

Comments about ASUS 64GB Eee Slate EB121 Tablet (White):

This product was purchased on 06/30/2011 from B&H website. After one month of having it, it started acting up. It wouldn't turn on for 1 day, but the next day it did turn on. Two weeks ago, it suddenly stopped working. It still doesn't turn on, I called ASUS warranty and the guy told me they will fix it for me, but i wanted my money back. After using this product for four months, its not working. I am sure it will keep giving me trouble. Th customer service, the guys name "Danel" promised me that his supervisor will call me back within 24-48 hours. I called them on October 29th, today is the 4th of November still no call backs. The touch screen doesn't really work. It costs twice the price of iPad 2, believe me the iPad is much more touch sensitive this garbage and costs much less, plus the apps are amazing. I purchased the EEE Slate for college and now I am in a library everyday to submit my homework's. Don't trust this item your college education, you will be stock just like I am right now.
