The GorillaPod Hybrid Flexible Mini-Tripod with Ball Head - Red/Black from Joby is designed to support small cameras with interchangeable lenses – Micro Four Thirds models and various other EVIL (electronic viewfinder, interchangeable lens) compact cameras.
Featuring the same style of bendable, grippy, wrap-around legs that have made GorillaPods both famous and highly useful, the GorillaPod Hybrid can be mounted on fence posts, trees, car hoods, and uneven surfaces – the rubber grips on its legs and feet keep your camera in place in any environment.
The Hybrid model also offers an integrated aluminum ball head that has separate controls for pan and tilt. This will keep the frame level and stable as you pan smoothly across a landscape while capturing a video clip. The GorillaPod Hybrid supports cameras up to 2.2 lb on just about any surface.
With its legs fully extended, the GorillaPod Hybrid measures 10.1", making it a great size for table-top shots and low-angle photography. It weighs just 6.4 oz, so it'll be a no-brainer to pack so you can easily capture high-quality, shake-free video and long-exposure photos.

Comments about Joby GorillaPod Hybrid Flexible Mini-Tripod with Ball Head - Red/Black:
I'll be traveling to Ireland in August (2013) where I plan to do quite a bit of landscape photography and videography. Because I intend to travel as lightly as possible and not bring any of my full-size tripods, I decided to give this mini-tripod a shot; additionally, I intend to take many images from a low vantage point. I'm impressed with the GorillaPod's strength and versatility, it supports my Canon T3i (with my heaviest lens / Tamron 10-24mm wide angle) without any trouble.

Comments about Joby GorillaPod Hybrid Flexible Mini-Tripod with Ball Head - Red/Black:
I find this mini-tripod really flexible. It's small, yet can handle my Pentax K-30 dslr with a weather resistant kit lens and my tiny Sony RX-100 easily or my older Canon S95.
Reason I bought it was because it could handle a light dslr and point-and-shoots as well. plus the very cool and useful level.
Yes, the red/black color combo was also a factor, beauty and function are easily achievable.

I reviewed many brands and types before buying this one and I'm glad I did. I love it! It is small but not too small. This will change the way I take pictures on-the-go. Especially while hiking.

I have a hefty manfrotto tripod that cost me a nice chunk of change and now I find myself using this cheap little tripod more and more.

Hanging my camera on railings, car window, etc. to stabilize for long focal length shooting. It's small enough to pack around, but big enough to be useful.

Handy and very stable for a small camera such as a Nikon V1. It fits everywhere. Great flexible tripod. When I am not using it with my V1 I am using with flash. A nice buy.
