The Sirui T-2005X 5-Section Aluminum Tripod is a very lightweight, compact tripod that extends to a maximum height of 56.9" and folds down to just 14.6" for easy transport. Weighing only 3.1 lb, the T-2005X supports loads up to 26.5 lb thanks to its thick upper leg sections and forged aluminum construction.
The T-2005X tripod is suitable for use with just about any head and any 35mm camera, DSLR, point & shoot, or camcorder. It's an excellent travel model due to its relatively light weight and the fact that its legs fold upward to achieve a folded length of only 14.6". That's a figure that won't necessarily grow if you attach a head – the legs extend past the height of many head models that you'll mount, so the entire package stays very compact to fit comfortably in most carry-on bags and many backpacks.
The tripod's center column is reversible, and the T-2005X comes with a short center column so that you can set up extremely close to the ground for ultra-low-angle shooting. With the short center column installed, you can set the legs at their wide angle (80°) and shoot from only 5.3" from the ground.

Comments about Sirui T-2005X 5-Section Aluminum Tripod:
This tripod is very frustrating to set up and take down because you have to TWIST and TURN EACH of the segments on the 3 legs in order to get this tripod ready for shooting!! This is extremely time consuming and irritating! You have to remember to turn each segment in one direction to loosen them and then turn each one in the opposite direction to tightening them. Because there are so many segments to adjust you tend to miss tightening up one segment from time to time (most times actually) and after "fighting" to get all of the legs set in the position that you want and you get ready to take a picture the tripod moves because you forgot to tighten one of the segments - Wonderful! This tripod is also a bit bulkier than I was hoping to have.I am still new to photography and this is my very first tripod purchase. I would not recommend this tripod to anyone. I am already looking to trade this tripod in and buy a replacement!

Extremely well made when cost is factored in. Very light for an all aluminum design with these specifications.
Leg locks need some care in use. Its possible to overtighten (not uncommon with other brands) these if one is overzealous, so break them in carefully and get a feel for the locking action. Do not overtighten!
I've owned some fancy tripods including (expensive) Gitzo's and Manfrotto's. The Sirui design's are excellent and elegant, but they may not be the best choice for those who must, or choose to, abuse their equipment.

Not sure why the specs say no spikes. They're actually built in, just twist the rubber feet and the spikes come out.
Everything about this little tripod is great. I won't use it fully extended, but I didn't buy for that. Keeping it short and shooting close the ground works great. It even fits inside my new Pelican bag.
