The Sirui BSRM3204X 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod is a very tall tripod that becomes quite compact for transport, thanks to its upward-folding legs. The M-3204 also features a detachable leg that transforms into a monopod when you unscrew it from the chassis and attach the mounting plate.

A monopod comes in very handy in areas where tripods are not allowed, such as many tourist areas, or in extremely tight quarters. As tall as the tripod gets (69.4"), the monopod gets even taller (a towering 73.4") when you attach the center column to the top of the unscrewed, extended leg.

The compact BSRM3204X tripod's legs fold upward 180° to achieve a relatively compact folded length of 20.1" – even with many camera head models attached. The entire package stays very compact to fit comfortably in most carry-on bags and many backpacks. Despite its small folded size and relatively light weight (3.7 lb), the BSRM3204X supports extremely heavy loads (up to 39.6 lb), so you can support just about any DSLR camera/lens combination and most camcorders.

The tripod's center column is reversible, and the M-3204 comes with a short center column so that you can set up extremely close to the ground for ultra-low-angle shooting. With the short center column installed, you can set the legs at their wide angle (80°) and shoot from only 6.1" from the ground.

Forged aluminum results in stronger components than the traditional casting process that's often used for tripod chassis. Forging leads to more compacted metal and enhances the integrity of metal grains so they remain consistent and continuous. This leads to a longer product life and better performance
An anodizing surface treatment, produced by an electrolytic oxidation process to increase the thickness of the natural oxide layer on the surface of metal parts, is applied to increase corrosion & wear resistance and surface hardness, and to enhance color durability
An additional mounting plate attaches to the unscrewed monopod leg to mount a camera. A wrist strap is included for security in case the operator's grip slips
Eight-layer carbon fiber leg sections
Two leg-angle settings (23° & 80°); legs can be set independently from each other
Silicone twist locks
Leg warmer on the monopod leg helps protect your gear by facilitating a sure grip
Stainless steel spikes emerge from feet, for extra stability in grass, gravel, and other loose terrain
Reversible screw (1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16) for compatibility with virtually any camera or head
Center column hook allows you to add a ballast for a sturdier setup in windy conditions
Well-designed padded travel bag with sturdy shoulder strap for carrying

Comments about Sirui BSRM3204X 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:

I travel often and only wanted to pack one support system that was easy to pack and light in travel. This Tripod has one leg which unscrews to become a very substantial monopod. Really, the engineering design and craftsmanship shows in every aspect of the product. It ain't cheap but here is a case where one gets one's money's worth. This is a keeper for a long time.

Comments about Sirui BSRM3204X 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:

This is a beautifully made, heavy duty tripod. It is so easy to operate. The leg locks take a minimal quick turn to open and close. The legs go up and down very smoothly. Spiked feet are just a few turns away at the bottom of each foot. It folds up very compact. The only negative I find is that the center column is a bit difficult to raise and lower. It requires more than a few turns of the locking collar to loosen it enough. And the upper section sticks more than the lower. But it is so tall that I rarely have to raise the center column.

Comments about Sirui BSRM3204X 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:

Just received this tripod and I am very impressed. Well made, super light and more compact when folded than I anticipated. Could easily fit in any carry on luggage, medium to large hiking pack or attached to the outside of one and would be very comfortable to carry over long distances. I have this paired with a Manfrotto 500AH video head and it is a perfect combination when used for video with my canon 5D mark 3, I would even be happy to put a medium slider on this as it feels really solid and well put together, especially when compared to the Manfrotto equivalent which I almost purchased. This tripod is far superior. Have used heaps of different tripods from very high end to very flimsy with all different types of camera packages, this is my new favourite set up for this type of shooting.

Comments about Sirui BSRM3204X 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:

I seriously needed to upgrade my tripod system for landscape photography. I wanted the quality that comes with a more expensive tripod without the cost so I purchased the Sirui BSRM3204X legs and matched it up with a RRS BH-40 ballhead. Because I just received them I haven't had time yet to really evaluate the BSRm3204X in the field. Just setting it up however, I can certainly tell already that my new tripod system will be miles ahead of what I had. I travel and hike frequently and will appreciate the short storage dimensions and light weight. I'm sure that I'm going to be happy with my purchase.

Comments about Sirui BSRM3204X 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:

I have owned several Gitzo Carbon Fiber Tripods, also some Feisols, Gitzo has always been a bit better, but this tripod beats any of them I have ever had, hands down.It is very sturdy, rock solid, very easy to setup with the grooved legs, it is so tall without the center column extended that myself being 6'2" had some difficulties looking into the camera, I had to lower the legs by 1". On the other hand the legs are completely reversible and fold into a 20" folded tripod with the head on it.Supplied with a luxurious ballistic nylon well padded case, the quality I have never seen in tripod cases. The quality of workmanship is far superior to any Gitzo tripod, you have to see and use one to believe it.Needless to say I have the highest recommendation for this tripod which has the best quality for less than half of the price of a comparable Gitzo.

Comments about Sirui BSRM3204X 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod:

Went back and forth on whether to get this one or the slightly smaller one (can't remember the model number now) and am glad I got this. Even when traveling, I want a sturdy tripod as I shoot video mostly. This one did the trick paired up with a manfrotto fluid 701 head. Nice and light and folds up nice and short. Perfect combo with my think tank international roller bag. Watch your fingers when you collapse! Going from monopod to tripod is quick as well and the monopod is a nice height.
