The Sirui P-306 6-Section Aluminum Monopod is a lightweight camera support that's ideal for extremely mobile operation with a DSLR, point & shoot camera, or a compact camcorder. For some situations, such as tourist locations where tripod use is prohibited, a monopod is the perfect way to fly under the radar but still ensure steady shots.

I use this to carry with me in my motorcycle saddle bag. It fits extremely well due to its low packing size and very light weight. It appears to be very strong, and I've gotten many compliments on its size, weight, and stability. I only hope that the leg clamps perform as good as the rest of the unit, only time will tell.

After much research I settled on this momopod becuase of how small it can get. When I recieved it I new instantly that is was a quality piece of gear. The weight of it feels perfect in my hands. It deploys quickly and most importantly it can get really small. A+

Comments about Sirui P-306 6-Section Aluminum Monopod:
Nice and compact, but it is a bit heavy. It fits in my small hiking daypack and has worked wellby adding some extra stability for quick panoramas on summits. I wish I had noticed the weight before purchasing because I could have spent a bit more on a lighter one.

Comments about Sirui P-306 6-Section Aluminum Monopod:
I am one of the typical one man band video producer/documentary-ian types. I have a hard rule for myself of shooting from a tripod whenever possible. I got Sirui P-306 to to use in Kuwait. The situation I will be working in calls for as much as I can get into as small and light a package as possible as I will be the whole film crew.
The P-306 collapses short enough that I can use it as a hip brace connected to my shoulder support rig, or can quickly extend to serve as a monopod. Surui makes one of carbon fiber and that one must be very light indeed since I find the aluminum P-306 to be so light I can't imagine regretting having it stuck in my belt or strapped to my camera case and wishing I had something lighter. I got a ball head with a quick release to go on top of it, but since the collapsed length of the P-306 is 15 inches, I still need to extend it a tad to use it as a hip brace with the ball head attached.
It has positive locks, the bolt flips over for the large format mount, and the machining and fit of all the parts is very close and tight.
This is the first monopod I have ever purchased-after inspecting a lot of them at camera shops- and if I buy another I doubt I could find a better value.

I use it a lot when I travel. It fits inside my backpack. It's not heavy and it has a real nice grip. Easy to expand and collapse. It comes with a belt hook so you can put it on your belt.

Comments about Sirui P-306 6-Section Aluminum Monopod:
I think this monopod from Sirui is a huge bang for the buck, and I regularly use it for event photography. The fit and finish on this monopod are superb from top to bottom. It is extremely easy to set up and fold down. I've added an Oben BA-00T ball head to mine for extra movement options. The mono does a good job of holding my GH2 + 14-140mm or 45-200mm. Heck, it is sturdy enough that you can put a forearm through the included strap and rest some weight on it. It's hard to believe that a mono this nice only cost $!
