The Sirui K-20x Ball Head is an extremely sturdy head with control knobs for pan, tilt, and tension, plus an Arca-style clamp for the included quick-release plate. The pan, tilt, and quick-release knobs are all separate, while the tension knob is integrated into the ball-locking (tilt) knob. The head tilts 90° for portrait orientation, and the quick-release plate features two pop-up pins that prevent camera twist when it's tilted 90°. There's also a video pin on the plate to keep camcorders from twisting.
The interior ball locking of the K-20x head has a sphere tolerance of 0.01mm, and it's equipped with an orientation-memory locking dial. This helps yield a high load capacity of 55 lb. The quick-release clamp features a secondary release button that prevents any inadvertent disengagement of the camera/plate from the clamp, thereby adding to the head's overall security & stability. The Arca-style platform conforms to standard sizes, so you can use compatible plates from other manufacturers.
The three control knobs allow a photographer to exercise extremely fine control over the orientation of the camera, whether it's a DSLR, 35mm, medium-format camera, or even a camcorder. Pan, for instance, can be adjusted while the tilt stays locked, enabling precise movement that's measurable – there are degree markers at the panning base for panoramic photography.
The K-20x is CNC-machined from an aircraft-grade aluminum alloy and anodized with an oxidation treatment that ensures a durable, high-quality finish.

Comments about Sirui K-20x Ball Head:
I use the Sirui K-20x Ball Head on a Manfrotto Monopod with my Nikon 200 DSLR and find it extremely useful when shooting in the vertical position because when you lock down, it stays locked down. Having the level bubble in the horizontal and vertical positions is also extremely helpful. The only negative about the Sirui K-20x Ball Head is that I wish it were half the price.

Comments about Sirui K-20x Ball Head:
The fit and finish of this ball head is very high quality. The ball head locks solidly and is plenty strong enough for my D7000 and assorted medium weight lenses. The minimum "drag" setting works well, and the overall design is very well thought out. The spirit level on the qr plate is a nice touch and works well. Looks to be quite well made and durable- time will tell!

Comments about Sirui K-20x Ball Head:
The ballhead is very well constructed and simple to use. The ballhead and locking mecanism are big enought to hold a 70-200 2.8 held by the foot.

Comments about Sirui K-20x Ball Head:
I use this ball head for macro photography with a Nikon D800 with battery grip attached and a Nikon 200mm f3.5 Macro lens (the old one). This little ball head holds tight so far and the tension screws are easy to use. It is another chinese manufacted product so I was initially concerned about using it. The long term durability is my only concern at this point. Weight is fantastic!

Comments about Sirui K-20x Ball Head:
Four, not five stars. If it wears gracefully and works as well down the road as it does now, then it will be five stars. Looking good, but call me conservative. This is a very smooth head with grip sufficient to hold a 70-200 2.8 with a D600 attached (my heaviest load, but balanced). It will also hold the D600 with an attached 70-300 at full extension (my most unbalanced load). The fit and finish seem quite fine. The packaging is first rate. Someone back at the factory cares, hooray! The provided plate is reasonable for starters or non-gripped bodies with relatively light lenses, but a camera-dedicated plate or bracket is where the action is. I will have need of another head in short order and I see no reason not to repeat the order.

Comments about Sirui K-20x Ball Head:
Precision-made ballhead works perfectly. Design, materials, and manufacture all excellent. Adjustments silky smooth and precise. Ball movement highly controllable in friction mode, and can be locked solidly with little effort. Prefer traditional screw-type clamp for locking the plate (at time of purchase, not aware of any lever-type clamp from Sirui). Screw-type clamp should readily accommodate essentially all Arca-Swiss type plates and brackets of all brands of manufacture in the future (not so with lever-type clamps which may be sensitive to small dimensional differences between Arca-Swiss type plates and brackets from different brands). Had ballhead only a few weeks, so can not report on long term durability, but PREDICT it would be durable and trouble-free. I highly recommend.

Comments about Sirui K-20x Ball Head:
I love the fact the ball head allow the user to adjust the tension. Very useful feature. I seen a gitzo before, which is super smooth. The sirui... i would say not as smooth for fine tuning. It def has a little bit of skipping at small scale. depending on the user, some like to keep it loose for portraits or whatever, while some likes it to be super tight ever time for landscape. If you like the first one, then checkout the gitzo perhaps (i'm not sure the name of the ball head), if you're going to have it tighten down all the time, then this thing is great. Another thing worth noting is the baseplate thing get loosen more than I like, not like every 2min, but if you move it enough, then yeah it does come loose. Overall, cheap price tag and quality build (CNC from aluminum, come on!!).

Comments about Sirui K-20x Ball Head:
The Sirui K-20x ball head is very well made. It is light, but sturdy, and it is the perfect companion for the Sirui T-1205x tripod. It has control knobs for pan (great to follow a moving object), tilt (great for portrait), and tension. There is a bubble level in both the horizontal and vertical axes. The base plate allows a quick release of the camera from the tripod and there is a safety button that prevents the plate from sliding off the platform. With a maximum loading capacity of 25 lb, it is good for even a big SLR with a big lens. I would recommend that head to anyone without hesitating.

Comments about Sirui K-20x Ball Head:
I got this as a back-up to my broken high end ballhead while it was in the shop. I now use this exclusivly. I try to stay away from the chinese copies, but if this is a sign of the quality of future products, I may have to take a second look on a few other items.. I have tested this on landscape, Wedding and Grand Prix.. smooth, fast and reliable..

This head seems very well constructed and works smoothly. The knobs are easy to adjust and tighten. My only complaint would be that the friction lock is too easily unintentionally changed.

Comments about Sirui K-20x Ball Head:
I was in need of an Arca compatible ball head for one of my tri-pods and did not really want to spend a fortune. After perusing the B&H web site I narrowed my choices to one of three models. In the final analysis cost being an issue the Sirui was my choice. It handles all of my Arca plates without any fit issues (some of the lower cost ball heads will not allow quick release plates drop in from the top). I have plates and L brackets by RRS, Pro Media Gear and various other makers and all work fine and drop right in. The head locks up nice and tight with no movement of my D7000 with MB-D11 grip with Tamron 70-300 DI VC. Like almost all of the other imported ball heads, the panning control does not really lock completely. The friction control wheel is inside the Ball lock and works as it is supposed to. The only issue is the tension control register spins on the main wheel, but this an issue I found on one other review. The register really isn't needed since tension adjustments are set based on "feel" so in reality this is a minor issue. overall this product provides about 85% of a Markins ball head at 1/3 the cost and includes a reasonable plate with folding anti rotation tabs that could be used with most camera bodies or lenses with a mounting foot. I think the rated weight limit is a bit optimistic and the base is rather narrow on the head so if your Tri Pod has a wide base (Manfrotto 190 series) you may consider the next size up. It fits perfectly on my Vanguard Alta pro 263AT. machining is clean with no visible tool marks. Packaging was nice and the included neoprene bag is a cute extra.
