The JS-MS70 Studio Monitor Speaker Stands (Black, Pair) from Ultimate Support are an ideal solution for small project, home, or mobile studios. The stands have stable low-profile bases with a triangular shape that can be positioned into tight areas. The stands come with leveling floor spikes for carpeted areas and rubber feet for use on hard floors.
The top platform measures 9" square and has 1mm thick non-slick strips to keep your monitor speakers in place. Each stand can be adjusted to 4 different heights for terrific customization. A locking pin ensures accurate and secure height adjustment.

I'm using these in my music studio to hold up a pair of M-Audio BX8a monitors. They are quite sturdy and fit my needs perfectly. The adjustable height is very useful.
One of the stands (the one without the included hardware bag) seems to have slightly better build quality than the other. It just fit together a little more cleanly, but both are fine in the end.
The footprint is quite large, but that is necessary for stability. I ended up moving my desk further away from the wall to place the monitor stands where I wanted them.

While assembling them out of the box, I threaded the bottom bolt that holds the pole to the foot to tight. Very cheap metal. After a mod and re-tapping the threads i managed to put it together.

I run a ProTools project studio in Boston and needed to get my ADAM A7s placed properly. These do the job inexpensiveily, though I have a few complaints. One (out of 6) of the rubber feet was broken when they arrived. They are height adjustable, but require a steel pin be inserted in holes through the main post at large intervals. Ultimate, If you are going to bother designing an adjustable stand, why not make it truly adusatble to custom heights instead of this work-around solution? A slightly better screw clamp would negate the need for the steel pin.
