The 8mm Ultra Wide Angle f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Nikon w/Focus Confirm Chip from Rokinon gives you a dramatic 180° view with a greatly exaggerated perspective when used with an APS-C camera. If used with a full-frame digital or 35 mm film camera, a powerful circular image is produced, floating within the frame. This fisheye lens includes a special chip that allows the lens to work with the camera's focus confirm, auto exposure, auto metering and auto white balance functions. Hybrid aspherical lenses and multi-layer coating help you to produce sharply defined images with a minimum of flare and ghosting. The lens focuses as close as 1' (30.48 cm) from the lens, and has a built-in petal lens hood.
Note! Produces a vignetted image on full-frame sensors or 35mm film

Comments about Rokinon 8mm Ultra Wide Angle f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Nikon w/Focus Confirm Chip:
This is really an excellent fisheye lens compare to the name brands. Highly recommend for those who are in a tight budget. Its all about composing your shots and leaving your aperture to f/5.6. The only thing you cant do is add a filter, but that would be impossible to do to a fisheye. :)

Comments about Rokinon 8mm Ultra Wide Angle f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Nikon w/Focus Confirm Chip:
Fantastic clear images with great color. I still cant believe this lens is this price, WITH the chip!!I read several reviews on this lens before purchase and everyone was 4-4.5 stars out of 5. I was still skeptical....but the proof is in the pictures. If youre looking for a sturdy, well built fisheye lens that delivers great images for your lens.

Comments about Rokinon 8mm Ultra Wide Angle f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Nikon w/Focus Confirm Chip:
Some have said that this lens takes better photos than the Nikon 10.5mm and I would definitely agree with that statement. This lens is absolutely wonderful and really catches the full 180 degrees. The auto focus confirm chip does not work on my D5100 but I don't see that as a problem at since the manual focus is so easy and quick. I love this lens so much and I cannot wait to use it to it's full potential.

I bought this product to take pictures of the BHS marching band which spreads a formation of 100 yards and just to have fun with the fish eye.
I found this lens so far a lot better than expected specially for the price.
It may not be a go to lens for the pro photographer, but I'm enjoying it.
I have not taken the time to really study the pictures that I have taken with it, but it does hat I expected that is why the 5 stars.
I use it mustly on manual focus.
Be careful with the lens cover, I lost my at he beach and had to call Rokinon for replacement ( not available at B&H)

This lens taken with my Nikon D7000 takes pictures as good as my Sigma 10-20mm zoom lens. The chip works great for short distance however it has problems with longer distance. This is ok because of the awesome DOF. Great lens better price. This was a gift from my sister however i asked her for this lens.

Comments about Rokinon 8mm Ultra Wide Angle f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Nikon w/Focus Confirm Chip:
I am amazed by the quality for the price. Very nice lens. The only negative I have right now is that the lens mount is a bit tight to mount and dismount. The included instructions are a bit sparse and it took me a short time to figure out how best to use it. I am using it on a Nikon D7000 and I set the lens aperture to f/22 and it works fine in P, S, A or M; I mainly use Aperture priority. Very satisfied so far.
I always wanted a fisheye lens but they are usually pricey. I bought this lens because of all the very positive reviews and it was on sale.
I also want to put in a good word for B&H Photo-Video. I have bought here before and will do so again. I highly recommend them.

I love Rokinon 85 1.4 and had to try this Fisheye for the given low price.
Its great for a fisheye. Very sharp and good contrast. if you are Nikon shooter get this AE version.
Fisheyes are fun for sure but you may get bored after a while.
If you want just wide lens its worth spending more for sigma 10 20 or tamron 10 24 etc..
This lens if for specific purpose and serves that well.

Because of the price I though I would get a bad product. Truth is that it yields nice images, of course not the best ones but I liked them. I am just wondering what the "Focus Confirm Chip" was... still need to check deeply in the manual.

so i always thought fish eye lens would be a lot more expensive, but this wasn't. still figuring out how to use this. there's two rings on it. one, I have to turn all the way to the left for it to function on my camera. This ring cannot move. Don't know why. The other ring is suppose to be the focus ring. But it doesn't really focus the image. The image seems to be in focus no matter what i do. i turned it all the way to one end, took a picture, and then turned the focus ring all the way to the other end, and took a picture of the same subject from the same spot. images looked pretty darn similar. anyways, pictures are turning out great.

Comments about Rokinon 8mm Ultra Wide Angle f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Nikon w/Focus Confirm Chip:
I'm a confessed Nikon lens snob. I normally wouldn't give a second glance to a non-Nikon brand lens, much less a manual focus lens. However, I love the fisheye look, love the distortion, etc. Thinking that a fisheye lens was out of my price range, I gave up on the idea of ever owning one, until I came across this lens by complete accident. When I got this lens, I was blown away by the quality and craftmanship -- it's actually better built than my Nikon lenses. I use a Nikon D5100 and paid the extra for the AE chip - it's worth it. The 8mm is wide wide WIDE. This takes practice to learn to use because you will get fingers and feet in the shot. I've used this for a week straight and I'm still learning, but so far, my experience has been great! This lens is incredibly fun to use. I took it on vacation and shot my ENTIRE vacation in fisheye (yep, I couldn't bear to bring out my other lenses!). I got so many fun, unique and memorable shots!Downside to this lens? Well, they're VERY minor, but I wanted to mention them. None of them are big enough to knock off a star. - The lens seems to require extra cleaning (it seems to get spots on it faster than my other lenses) but I'm guessing that because of the nature of the fisheye lens & how the glass sticks out, this would be a minor issue with any fisheye lens.-The lens cap needs a little juggling to get on.- Chromatic abberation on anything in the far, far corners. But this only appeared when I got my fingers in the shot (and thus edited out in post-processing). In other words, I only noticed fringing when I got my fingers in the shot. - If you use this too much (like I did), you will start "seeing" in fisheye, and you might make yourself sick. I used it so much that I was DREAMING in fisheye on my vacation. Don't hesitate; this really is a great lens. Set it on the 1.5 ft focus or more and you're good to go.

Comments about Rokinon 8mm Ultra Wide Angle f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Nikon w/Focus Confirm Chip:
I bought a Rokinon lens before that I loved, so when I went looking for an affordable fisheye this seemed to be the best answer. I am more than impressed with this lens. It is not too heavy or too light, I find the weight to be very comfortable in my hands. The angle is super wide! I was getting my hands and fingers in the shot at first. It looks wonderful, whether taking a picture in a small room, or getting broad landscape shots.
I thought I would only use this lens when shooting BMX, and dirtbiking... But I now find it to be one of my favorites for any occasion. I love taking this one to walk around with because it gives me so much range.
I was nervous, since there is no autofocus function. But set this lens to infinity and go! I've never had any problems with having to manual focus. Even in shooting high speed sports.
If you're considering buying a fisheye lens or even just a wide angle, this is the best bet! It is affordable and produces quality pictures.
