Comments about Rokinon 7.5mm f/3.5 Ultra Wide-Angle Fisheye Lens for Micro 4/3 (Black):
I'm using this lens on an Olympus EPL-1 and once I figured out that you have to set the image stabilization mode for the focal length of the lens I love it. My first shots with the lens were with the wrong settings and I was ready to return it and get a refund as I kept getting what looked like ghost images on everything especially words and tall buildings. I've always liked the perspective that extreme wide angle lenses give and I'm pretty impressed with this lens for the price in comparison to others. It appears to give sharp images overall from the edges to the center provided you have it stopped down to f8 or greater. Though I have to admit that I did some low light shots where the aperture was wide open and they seem pretty sharp too. Also the lens being manual required a little bit of getting used to as far as propper exposure goes, though on the EPL-1 it seems to work fine in the manual mode and also in the program mode as it shows you what you are getting in the viewfinder and I guess the camera knows it's a manual lens and brings up the shutter speed mode set automatically when in the program setting. It has such a wide angle of view that you have to be careful not to shoot pictures of your hands as you are holding the camera, you get used to holding the camera differently to prevent this. Also it isn't easy to focus this lens because the focus ring isn't too pronounced, but how much focusing do you really do on a fish-eye lens? Only if you are including a subject that is really close to the camera. So over all I think it's a great lens for the money.

Comments about Rokinon 7.5mm f/3.5 Ultra Wide-Angle Fisheye Lens for Micro 4/3 (Black):
This lens is pretty small and easy to toss into your bag and carry along. As long as you don't over-use it (fisheye after fisheye after fisheye photo is seriously irritating), it can add some funkiness to your photo sequences. Toss in a fisheye photo maybe every 25th shot or so, and even then, only when it really makes sense or feels right. Consider getting it, but definitely do not sell your bread-and-butter glass. If you don't buy this lens, no big deal either; it's NOT an absolute must-have, IMO.

Comments about Rokinon 7.5mm f/3.5 Ultra Wide-Angle Fisheye Lens for Micro 4/3 (Black):
This is my first ultra wide lens ever, and I have found it great fun. It is very sharp with excellent contrast. I have no problem with the manual functions (but I'm from the old days of film). I highly recommend this lens for anyone looking for an ultra wide angle. Especially at this price, compared to all others.

Comments about Rokinon 7.5mm f/3.5 Ultra Wide-Angle Fisheye Lens for Micro 4/3 (Black):
The lens came with good insturctions. But, there is really no need for them. The lens is extremely easy to use. As long as the f/ stop matches the one set on the camera, it produces sharp and clear images. The focus markings on the lens are quite accurate. The lens itself feels sturdy, very well built. Money well spent.

The bad things: The camera is not able to rotate vertical pictures when using this lens. It was a little tight for both attaching or removing the lens from the body.
The Good things: you can preview the exposure from the screen. The quality of the pictures taken with this lens is good. It's fun using a fisheye lens. Common things become interesting. I have had an excellent experience using it for a week.

If you're looking to round out your lens bag with a different look, this is a fun and inexpensive direction to turn. I own the Panasonic DMC-GH2, the 14-140mm zoom and the 20mm pancake Leica lenses. The Rokinon 7.5mm Fisheye was my first manual lens for this camera. The build of the lens is very good. The sharpness is very good in the center of the field...falls off somewhat at the edges. On a day of shooting 100 pictures, I will consistently use this lens for 4 or 5 shots to establish the setting. It is an excellent value and I would recommend it anyone.

The lens is compact, sharp and has good contrast.Looks good on the OM-D too.I found some nice LR profiles from a KenW that allow you to remap the projection of the lens into Equal Area, Equidistant, Stereographic and Rectilinear...........

Comments about Rokinon 7.5mm f/3.5 Ultra Wide-Angle Fisheye Lens for Micro 4/3 (Black):
I have a pana GF1 and a GH2 plus a number of lenses, but for wide-angle work, I normally use my 14-140mm. I was interested in buying the pana-leica 50mm/1.4 as a supplement to my 20mm/1.7 on a recent visit in new york, but the pana-leica was backordered. So I decided to fix my lack of wide angle by buying this 7.5mm/3.5 lens - not as a passionate decision, but to fix my lack of wide angle.
In the past, I have found wide angle photos quite boring, like seen in so many dull postcards, so my expectations were modest. So I was quite overwhelmed by how fun this lens is to use. In the subway, shopping with my woman, fighting through the crowd to the ferry, etc. I was also surprised to see that this lens is super sharp. In some situations (with a close subject), it would have been nice with AF, but for the price, this lens represents great vale and great fun!

Comments about Rokinon 7.5mm f/3.5 Ultra Wide-Angle Fisheye Lens for Micro 4/3 (Black):
Ok let's talk about this lens with no Bragging on experience. First I use an Olympus Pen for Micro Four Thirds. So, I tested the Olympus 8mm 3.5, The Panasonic Lumix G 8mm 3.5, Olympus Fcon-P01 Fisheye Converter, it's about 10.4mm. The Rokinon 7.5mm costs a lot less then both the Olympus and the Panasonic. I look at 3 things when purchasing a lens, the lens construction, the image quality, and how it compares to others in its class. I walked into a store with my camera and asked to see each of these lenses. I mounted the lens and took a few shots with the lens in the store. I wrote down the shots I took with each lens and went home to see the results (I had to go to two stores to do this but it is worth it, believe me). I was very impressed with all of the lenses and their image quality, but the Rokinon just kept on impressing me not only with the images I shot but the lens construction. It is very well made. It feels like a pro lens, it's amazing. I have a Canon 5D mark 2, and I use the Canon 8-15mm F4 Ultra Wide angle Fisheye and I want to kill Canon right now. I have better images with the Rokinon than the Canon. AND, again the construction feels better. The lens is manual but I like that. I love to be the one to take the picture, use my judgment, and this lens lets me do just that. Trust me, don't be scared, go into a store and test the lenses. The worst the salesman can say is no. But 95% of the time they let you test it to make the sale. Have fun testing and good luck on your purchase.

Comments about Rokinon 7.5mm f/3.5 Ultra Wide-Angle Fisheye Lens for Micro 4/3 (Black):
After a month of use, I can say that having a tiny fisheye on a small camera body has been quite entertaining. This is a solid, tiny, and weightless lens at a great price point.
First, there is zero need to have an autofocus fisheye, e.g. the more expensive Lumix G 8mm MFT fisheye lens. To be honest, one could almost use this lens blindfolded, just pointing here and there.... there is almost no need to touch the focus ring at all if things are set at just shy of infinity-focus at f/8. It is only with within a foot or two close-ups, or carefully composed scenes that one needs to worry more about fine focus --and a fast autofocus is not going to help with those shots. Not as an aside, the focus ring is smooth as silk on this.
I like composing architectural shots with complex lines and angles. I have also found that with judicious cropping of images that this also becomes and effective sports/action and street lens. I have submitted an example of both with this review.
One caveat: I have a Lumix G1 camera body. It has more of a grip (similar to that on the Lumix GH1, GH2, and G2) than the Olympus and most of the other Panasonics. Because this lens is so small and *shallow*, and because it has a 180 degree field of view...it is easy to accidently capture one's knuckles in the frame if overt caution is not employed. I dont imagine that such was ever an issue before, i.e. on bulky lenses on a full frame camera body.

I have always wanted to own a fisheye, but could never justify the cost, nor put up with the size & bulk of a conventional fisheye. This Rokinon (aka "Samyang") fisheye fits the bill perfectly on both fronts: it is affordable at [$] and it's *tiny* for Micro Four Thirds. It fits perfectly alongside my other m4/3 lenses. The construction, fit and finish of this lens is very good. I haven't run rigourous optical tests, but other reviews have lauded the sharpness of this little lens. It is a fully manual lens, both for focus and for aperture. I can live with this for a fisheye that is used only for specific occasions. the 180 degree field of view (diagonal) is great fun to play with, and turns everyday humdrum pictures into eye-catching images. The lens has a built-in hood and comes with a soft pouch. The only thing missing is a depth-of-field scale on the barrel.

I use it on a Panasonic GF1 and can get some amazing shots. The manual focus isn't too bad to deal with since the depth-of-field is so shallow. The camera has to be set to 'shoot without a lens' then it's ready to go. I'm really enjoy extreme wide angle lenses and this is just what the GF1 needed.
