The Magnus DX-5330 Deluxe Photo Tripod With 3-Way Pan-and-Tilt Head is a stable photo tripod made from anodized aluminum that can support loads up to 6.6 lb (3.0 kg), ideal for mirrorless, 4/3, and DSLR cameras. The geared center column allows precise control over the height of the camera. The three-way pan-and-tilt head has a quick-release plate and a bubble level to keep your camera properly aligned to the horizon. The DX-5330 tripod system weighs 3.95 lb (1.80 kg).

The 3-section leg design allows you to adjust the height of the tripod from 24.0" (61.0 cm) to 63.75" (162 cm) with the geared center column fully extended. A detachable hook at the base of the center column allows you to attach a counterweight for extra stability in windy conditions. Foam padding on the legs protects the legs and your hands in cold weather. A mid-level spreader provides improved stability on uneven terrain. The rubber feet are ideal for working indoors and on level surfaces. The included retractable metal spikes give you maximum traction on dirt, sand, or any uneven terrain. The DX-5330 offers a full 360° pan range.

I found the setup is quick, but some of the legs seem to stick. I'm not sure if it's just mine or if the manufacture failed to include a little distance for when they paint the legs, to let it slide easily. All the legs but one of mine pulls pretty easy. The last one really need to be pulled with some force. The bridge metal from the lets to the center post are quite loose when it's packed up or extend. So make sure you got it planted to the fullest extent, before you take the picture.

Otherwise the pan-and-tilt head works great. The stand level is easy to see, but the camera's level can be hidden underneath quite easily.

Also, don't ever let water get on it, because it has some foam on the legs.

I bought this for photo and video use - not with the intention to pan and tilt because obviously a fluid head is best for that, but really just for setting up a good solid state shot. The bottom line, this is not worth the $[$] they want for it. It's junk. This should be a $20 tripod. Cheap heap of junk that isn't good for anything but very very basic photo work, and I mean BASIC.

Comments about Magnus DX-5330 Deluxe Photo Tripod With 3-Way Pan-and-Tilt Head:

I use this product to support my DSLR and HD video camera. I like taking pictures with my remote and the tripod allows me to position my kids and quickly snap photos. It is adjustable in height so it can be used on top of other objects (like a table) or placed directly on the floor. The mounting plate makes it easy to add and remove your camera. It folds up nicely and comes with a carrying case for travel. I am new to photography, and not a professional, but I find this tripod to be very useful and well worth the money.

When I recieved it one of the legs would not lock all the way but I sent it back to B&H and they are mailing me a new one as we speak. I did use it that night and I like how the head can pan and tilt.

The DX-5330 Tripod by Magnus is just the support I was looking for the spotting scope I use for birding. I can easily attach my scope, adjustments make it a snap to rotate and position the scope, and the tripod provides steady support.
                I would recomment this product.

Comments about Magnus DX-5330 Deluxe Photo Tripod With 3-Way Pan-and-Tilt Head:

This tripod has all of the features you'd need for taking photos. I bought this tripod for basic video use. The tripod seems durable, except for the frame that holds it in the out position. This shouldn't be a problem, though, as it doesn't affect the overall stability. The foam grips can be quite usefull, but they might wear down with heavy use. The tripod frame is made of aluminum but the head is made of a tough plastic. I don't think it'll break, even after a large fall, so that shouldn't be a problem. This is a solid tripod which would be perfect for home and semi-professional use.

Comments about Magnus DX-5330 Deluxe Photo Tripod With 3-Way Pan-and-Tilt Head:
