Comments about Atlas Sound DS-7 - Desk Stand:

I travel around a lot with these stands to do interviews in different locations. While they are a little bulky, they're easy to put together fast and don't interfere with the sound quality.

Comments about Atlas Sound DS-7 - Desk Stand:

Same as the taller Atlas stands, great clutch, solid build. Useful for miking up a guitar amp on stage, or for use on a desk. They always work. The base, of course, is quite small so anything longer than the shortest gooseneck will tip it over.

This is a very nice stand, high quality and a great value.I'm using it in my ham shack with a Heil ICM desk microphone. This stand with the Heil ICM microphone looks great and the 8" height is perfect.

Comments about Atlas Sound DS-7 - Desk Stand:

This is an update on my recent review. I just got back from the studio and using this stand with the 13 in gooseneck extension is somewhat precarious in terms of balance. I used an Audix D6 kick mic, which is not very heavy and at various angles the stand toppled. It can be done, but is not very secure. I believe a 9" extension would not be much of a problem. Otherwise, the mic stand is fairly secure as is without any extension and is lightweight, compact and with the 6 in base, a mic can be positioned very close to the resonant head or just inside a ported head.

Comments about Atlas Sound DS-7 - Desk Stand:

I bought this stand as an extra kick drum mic stand because it has a smaller base than the 10 in model, the Atlas Sound DMS7E, and it is more compact and of lighter weight. The stand is good quality build and works good for kick drum or as a desktop mic stand. The clutch works well, however, the only con is the upper tube can slip through the clutch when adjusting. It is easy to re-insert, though. The stand isn't nearly as sturdy for live performing as the 10 in base model (though parts are interchangeable), but is as sturdy as competing brands with small bases. I purchased from another retailer a 13" extension chrome gooseneck, which works excellent with this mic stand. A quality product.
