Atlas Sound's MAC-1 Microphone Adapter Clamp is a multi-use adapter/clamp for securing microphones, horizontal booms, and accessories with standard 5/8"-27 threads. Featuring a nylon end cap to prevent damaging surface finishes, the MAC-1 can also clamp mount to 5/8" and 7/8" diameter tubing as well as to free-standing instruments. Constructed from high-strength aluminum, this adapter can be used for either horizontal or vertical mounting.

The MAC-1 clamp is extremely rugged, and has many uses. A pair of MAC-1 will allow you to do all kinds of stereo techniques, including blumlein, spaced omni, xy, and ortf, all with a single standard mic stand. Also allows you to clamp to things like drum hardware and other mic stands to keep setups uncluttered, or for double miking things like guitar amps or vocals. I was using one for a while, and just bought a second.

This works perfectly well for me, however I do wish they would make a slightly larger, more sturdy design. I use this to hang AKG C414's on a bar, but I'm not sure if I would trust something heavier like a Neumann tube mic on it.
