The HL-2230 Compact Personal Laser Printer from Brother prints at a fast 24-pages-per-minute in high quality 600 dpi output. The printer's compact size makes it the perfect choice for printing documents, spreadsheets, envelopes and labels, especially when space is at a premium. Despite its small footprint, the printer still manages to pack in a 250-sheet input tray and a 100-sheet output tray for uninterrupted printing. Additionally, the printer includes a manual feed slot for thicker media such as envelopes and labels. For complex documents, the printer has 8 MB of internal memory so it won't use up your computer's resources.

Comments about Brother HL-2230 Compact Personal Laser Printer:
This printer has served me well in graduate school. I need to print many documents for class and rarely are color copies needed. I previously had an HP Deskjet that went through printer cartridges so quickly that it was obvious that this laser printer was the answer. The cartridges are reasonable and last longer than the desk jet and even the compatible cartridges work well. I have a macbook running snow leopard and after using the installation disk and updating some drivers, the printer worked great. No problems at all. Buy this printer if you want simple inexpensive black and white printing from a sturdy constructed machine.

This printer was purchased for home office use.I love the fact it's a laser printer for less than $ dollars.I only wish it would print front and back automatically without having to manually flip and put the page back in.
