The Nano Patch+ Passive Stereo Volume Controller (Black) from SM Pro Audio allows you to attenuate your audio signal without impacting the quality. Simply place the Nano Patch+ in your signal path between your computer or audio interface's master outputs and your stereo speakers. The Nano Patch+ will provide completely passive volume control.
The Nano Patch+ does not have any active circuitry, buffers, transistors, batteries, or power supply that can impact your audio signal. The result is completely transparent operation and uncompromised sonic integrity. Rather than controlling your output via software, which can reduce audio bit depth, use of a passive controller like the Nano Patch+ lets you keep your computer's output at unity for maximum quality.
The Nano Patch+ is easy to use, with a large rotary volume knob and a mute button. It also has XLR/TRS combo inputs that can accept balanced or unbalanced signals for terrific versatility and compatibility with a variety of systems. It has a pair of 1/4" TRS outputs, which also pass balanced or unbalanced signals to your speakers. There is even a 3.5mm mini input/output connector for use with smaller audio sources and portable speakers.

I purchased the Nano Patch + to attenuate the signal coming from my HDTV to my Samson C Control since the TV's remote does not control the volume to the RCA outs and there is no seperate volume controls for the 4 inputs on the C Control.
The Nano Patch + works exactly as I had anticipated and allows me to lower the TV volume so it balances better with the other 2 devices plugged into the Samson C Control. Before purchasing this unit I would have to mute the TV input on the C Control and turn up the master volume so my Computer or Interface would be loud enough through my studio monitors. Now I leave the Master volume turned to a proper level and keep the TV volume on the Nano Patch + lower which keeps everything balanced properly.
The construction is solid, it looks good and has a mute button when I need to turn down quickly. I would recommend the Nano Patch + to anybody wanting a good volume controller.

Works, Can't hear It- feels cheap
I'll come back and upgrade the review in a year if the mute switch and volume knob are still working. But it is completely invisible, so that's a plus.

Works great right before the Monitors. Lets all your signals run at 100% before going in to the NANO and then you still have volume control

Comments about SM Pro Audio Nano Patch+ Passive Stereo Volume Controller (Black):
I bought a set of studio reference monitors for home but I don't have a mixer at home like I do at my office. So I just needed a quick and easy way to change the volume going out to the speakers. The nano patch does the trick.
The one thing I was thinking that could be a nice feature on them though, is the ability to toggle between the two outputs (1/4" L&R and 3.5mm TRS). There is a mute switch on the device, however I think it would be cool to have a mute switches for each output. This is incase you ever use the device with speakers and headphones at the same time of course.

This box does just what I wanted it to do, and does so cleanly. The mute function is a nice bonus, too (no clicks or pops when switched).

Controller is built solid and works like it should. If they had XLR/TRS combo outputs it would be 5 stars.
I highly recommend it for any home studio.

I am not sure why I didn't buy this product years ago. I have a NLE system and Mackie Mixing board. I have always unplugged my studio speakers when using headphones or a client in the room. And, I've been very tired of doing this.
This device is perfect. Now I simply have a mute control & another levels volume.

I've been using a Mackie ProFX12 live console in my audio/video editing suite. It works great, and since I really only use the board for routing and monitoring, I didn't think I'd miss having an actual volume control for my studio speakers. But boy, did I miss having that control.
The Nano Patch works great. It goes between the output of my console and my speakers' power amp. It sounds great! And it looks great.
Because it's passive, it adds no coloration to the sound. And having a mute button is another nice feature.
I'm extremely pleased with this purchase.
