Comments about SM Pro Audio XPM1 - Microphone Preamp:
Nice little single mic preamp. Does the job.
Careful, it does not come with a 12V DC Power Adapter. You'll need one if you want this to work.
Used with Shure omni-directional microphone to setup local and broadcast sound throughout building.

Comments about SM Pro Audio XPM1 - Microphone Preamp:
Bought this to add another mic to my mixer, by using the EFX Return input. It does the job, but requires full volume to bring the same model mic up to the same volume as the other channels (only 50dB gain instead of 60dB like the mixer, so this isn't too unexpected). Also, despite the all metal housing, it doesn't seem to be as well shielded. Downtown Houston has strong Mexican radio signals in upper floors of the skyscrapers, and some people report it bleeding into their equipment. I've always enjoyed not having this problem, but now when I go there I have to use one of my mixer's XLR inputs instead, if I want to keep the accordions out of my audio.Note: does not come with a power adapter, had to supply my own. Not a big deal for me, especially if it keeps the price down.
