The Pico Dolly Camera Table Dolly from Pico Dolly is a simple, affordable dolly for capturing dynamic shots with small camcorders and any other type of video-enabled camera, such as a DSLR, mirrorless, or point & shoot model. Perfect for table-top use or low-angle shots, the Pico Dolly adds that crucial element for making otherwise static shots compelling: smooth motion.

The 3.5"-wide dolly has a sturdy aluminum chassis that supports two adjustable axles. Their orientation can be modified (via thumbscrews) to let you adjust the arc of the Pico Dolly's movement. The dolly can move straight, along broad curves, or in complete circles for 360° shots.

The Pico Dolly has three 1/4"-20 threaded holes on its chassis, for attaching the camera (or first a head for precise positioning) plus two accessories such as articulating arms and lights. (A removable 1/4"-20 post is included.) Its wheels resemble those of inline skates, and high-quality ball bearings ensure that your dynamic shots are carried off smoothly – without a hitch.

Adjustable axles allow the Pico Dolly to glide straight or in full 360° circles

Loving my new Pico Dolly. It's small, afordable, easy to use and works perfectly with my Panasonic Lumix GF3. Used it in a classroom for b-roll shots the other day. Kids doing crafts at tables. Did some nice dolly shots instead of the tired old hand-held and tripod fare. Also bought the 7" Articulating Friction Arm which adds funcionality. If your a single camera documenary videographer, the Pico Dolly is a must-have item for your DSLR package. I even attached the Pico Dolly to an old Slick tripod and was able to dolly with my Panasonic AG-HPX170. It worked great. Threads on one of the adjustment knobs were stripped out of the box. I called the factory (they actually have a phone number on their web site with a real person answering it) and they shipped me a new one in two days, no questions asked.

If I can say one thing about this product, it supports quite a load! Other than that, I have much cheaper dollies with just as many, if not more features. I have a Nikon D800 I use with an Oben ball mount on top of this sled. I also have a couple pearstone articulating arms for a MicroPro LED light and Marshall M-CT5 monitor. This dolly handles it no problem.I will say that the bolts used to tighten the axles have rather large handles. I wish they were the ratchet kind like those on my nicer Manfrotto tripods. Because they are so long and you can not ratchet them, they interfere with placing my articulating arms on. I even in some cases have to either over or under crank the axle just so the handle doesn't stick so far out into the platform. I forsee myself shaving these things down at least half way.I also wish there were some guidelines pertaining to axle angles. This thing is nearly impossible to get set in a straight line (when using with rail systems) Add a good 5 minutes to set up if you are using with rails as there is a lot of trial and error. The axles are hexagonal in shape so you sort of have to "feel out" where they might be straight against the flat bottom plate. There are no screw holes on the bottom inside of the axles. This means you can't place little screws to guide on a DIY pipe type track. There are FAR cheaper dollies that have these solutions built in.I would also recommend a very light wet sanding with incredibly high grit sand paper in order to smooth out the wheels. There are lots of little pieces left over from the casting mold that transfer shake into the shot. One more thing, I actually ordered a unit before the one I've tested. It came to me warped. Only 3 wheels touched the ground at any given time allowing for a good bit of movement if weight wasn't distributed properly. I'm a little surprised this company doesn't have better quality control. I noticed the issue as soon as I opened the box. Again, I'm a little surprised the person who packed the slider didn't take 10 seconds to roll the thing on the table in front of them before shipping off. That was VERY annoying because I missed using it at a shoot. Good thing I've got a couple cheaper ones still sitting around...

Comments about Pico Dolly Camera Table Dolly:

This is a good product for the price. It is a little light, so you will need to balance if you have a lot of weight from the camera. But it does the job for quick and small sliding on a smooth surface.

If you have a smooth surface (tiles, tables, etc), this dolly allows you to capture great, flowing images. You can set-up awesome low-angle, epic shots with this little gadget. I film a lot of action shots for fast-paced editing, and this allows me to get that 1-2 second shot with ease. I still use sliders and dolly tracks, but if you shoot-to-edit, and know EXACTLY what you want, this is a great gadget to have for a very affordable price.

Comments about Pico Dolly Camera Table Dolly:

I only gave 4 stars because I've only used it a few times over the couple of weeks I've had it. So far, so good. Smooth motion and great looking video. Also purchased the Oben ball head, which works great with our Canon 7D. The base is sturdy enough to hold it up just fine with a short lens (didn't try a large one), but this product is probably one where you want to be reasonably close anyway.

I use it whenever i need smooth camera movement, and the best part, you don´t need a dolly track! Camera tracking movements works from any smooth surface. Push or pull dolly shots, and even 360 degree rotating movements.
You will need the Articulating Arm bought separately as it´s only the Pico Dolly in the package. Unless of course you already have a Suction Cup mount like i do, watch my set up :)

Comments about Pico Dolly Camera Table Dolly:

Yes it is small. CNC Machinery makes it very stable when using it as a dolly. Way better movement than you think. I just tried it on my HF G10 and the pans, etc look very professional. You have to buy small ball head for it and get a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter to mount it if you are using a larger video camera. (like my HF G10) The double arm it comes with is more suited for smaller cameras. Quality of the material and smoothness of the dolly move is incredible.Don't think twice just buy it. It is that good.

Comments about Pico Dolly Camera Table Dolly:

I love the Pico Dolly! A friend of mine got one of these and I immediately told myself I would get one once I saw it in action. You don't ALWAYS need a $10,000 dolly system, or even one of those nice new pocket dollies for $600-$2,000 to get those gloriously sublime dolly shots! Granted, you DO need a relatively smooth surface for this to work best, but being able to turn the wheels adds so much more versatility and possibilities that you can NEVER get out of high end rail systems. A great tool to keep in your bag of tricks. Definitely adds that "Wow!" factor to projects of all levels. I try to find an excuse to use this on every production now.

I can't set it up to do tight enough arcs and I can't get it to repeat the same moves. It would be better if it had a wider base. Also the wheels grind when they spin.

I use this with my Canon 7D and and usually a 24-70 lens. I have to center my rig carefully because the weight of my camera/lens can tip the dolly over easily. Friction arm will not support my camera & lens. I bought a ballhead to mount my rig. Rolling action is very smooth. Top-notch quality.

Comments about Pico Dolly Camera Table Dolly:

Works great especially when circling an object. Leave your slider at home if you have a tabletop handy. A bit tough setting up a proper circle but very highly recommended for the price and build quality.

Comments about Pico Dolly Camera Table Dolly:

The Pico Table Dolly delivers huge results, with only a few drawbacks. The company's information stated the dolly worked with full sized heads and my intent was to use it with a Gitzo ball head. The problem encountered was the Gitzo didn't match the attachment screw. Solved the problem by going to the drug store and purchasing large scunci head wraps. A quick wrap around the ball head, under the table dolly and back around the ball head gives a VERY secure solution to the problem. Now I get the results that I originally envisioned for the dolly. Also use it with a DIY 48" aluminum track attached to a tripod with very good results.

This dolly glides very smoothly and is made of durable metal. It is solid and can take quite heavy equipment.

this is a great dolly for a smaller point and shoot or camcorder. I was able to get some great images just like the video from the manufactuer. Construction is top notch. The only thing is that it is pretty small and the weight of a dslr makes it unstable expecially if you place it on quick release. I tried to fit a manfrotto QR on it and couldn't get it to fit because it was too big to attach it without taking off the wheels. Once i did it was usable but a bit top heavy. I was able to use it on slightly uneven floors with a smaller point but definately not with a dslr. I still give it 5 stars because it is great for table tops and some floor shots. Just don't expect a lot more from it. Most pro's or wedding photographers would find it too limiting.

the ball bearing wheels are great and what's better is the look, the included bag. and the adjustable axis. i think it is worth more than the friction based tracks that costs much much more. i'm old school, i believe in wheels and not friction. only minor itch is that i need a small ball head to mount the camera
