Comments about WindTech PopGard Microphone Windscreen:

We purchased two of these for a special production where we were using studio condensers(U87s) in a live environment. We didn't want to use a big gooseneck pop filter due to the look of it. This performed as expecting and was able to filter out the low end pops.

Comments about WindTech PopGard Microphone Windscreen:

I used it to avoid pop on my MXL770 microphone

It works so well to eliminate all the pop sounds from singer's voices while singing. It minimizes singer's breathing sounds too. The best thing about this is light weight and compact. It attaches right on the mike and does not have any bulky holder like other pop filter. Looks great too.

              No plosive worries now.
I like that it conforms to
              the mic and there's no
              visual occlusion as with
              other pop filters.
              Very satisfied with this filter!

I record a lot of live videos of my singers and the usual POP filter is obtrusive. This looks a lot better and seems to be as effective.

I bought this to replace a 'gooseneck' windscreen by WindTech. I changed my mic mount and had nowhere to mount the gooseneck. This is so small and light, yet does a great job. I'm using it on an MX2001 mic and couldn't be more satisfied.

Comments about WindTech PopGard Microphone Windscreen:

Ive used other pop filters and none of them worked well with a mic on a desk arm. If you moved your mic the position of the filter changed. Also, most filters are designed to attach to a round mic stand or the like. Forget about attaching them to a the desk arm. WindTech came up with a simple solution. Their guard attaches to the mic itself...done. It also works fine as a pop filter.

I have yet to extensively test this in recording, but it seems to be constructed well and looks like it will work as described. It fits the couple of studio condensor mics I have and would seem to fit many larger or smaller mics as well.

I am on the road a lot and have a lot of gears moving along with me. I was thinking about buying a regular pop filter when I found this one. It is incredible, it does the job better than a regular big and awkward pop filter that you end up having to adjust all the time. This one is extremely easy to put on any kind of condenser mic, extremely efficient and even if it doesn't really matter, it looks pretty good. I am really happy with this purchase. Great product for a great price!

Bought specifically for use with an AKG 414. The foam thingy that comes with a 414 takes away too much high frequencies and the usual pop guards that one mounts on the stand work, but I didn't like their size, especially for live use.I was unsure how well the WindTech PopGard would work with an (asymmetrical bodied) 414, but it mounts easily and works well. Could still be smaller for the 414 but that would just be too much too ask as it's supposed to fit a number of microphones. The two rubber bands (one extra is included as back-up) hold the guard nicely in place. Solid! To make sure, the PopGard still wants you to keep a distance of 1 or 2 inches from the microphone - but then condenser microphones of this class are not made for 'eating'. I do use the 414 for live vocals where I have to be rather close to fend off feedback issues - it does its job well and does not totally obstruct my face. Mission accomplished.

Until now I've only ever used a home made set up of pantyhoes and some bailing wire. So this is an improvment for sure! Seems like having it free of the mic stand is a plus, and it works better to take away wind pops then i expected!

I like this item for its compact styling. It's a lot easier to use than the average mesh pop filter.

Everyone is different. For me, I must have unusually high plosives. I usually use two of the mesh filters back-to-back to tame pops.

By itself, I thought this one didn't quite get the job done. I ended up using a mesh pop filter backed by this screen mounted on the mic. That worked well for me.

I noticed no more coloration than an extra mesh filter. Highs were clear and sparkling with no apparent roll-off.

This thing not only stops 90% of the plosives—which I can't say for most pop filters in this price range—but it fits on all sizes of side-address mics (U-87 to Royer 122). And, it follows the mic! No more sagging goosenecks or additional mic stands to try to position the gooseneck and screen just right. Well-designed product.

I do a lot of commercial voice - over recording that requires a very close proximoty to the microphone for presence and clarity - along with which comes the unwelcome effect of sibilance and popping!
I purchased a pair of PopGards to try out as alernatives to my current Royer PS-101s.
As far as pop prevention goes, the PopGard works 100% - no questions. I did feel that the mic "lost it's open-ness" with the PopGard attached which is not the case with the Royer.

This is the most practical way to deal with pops. No endless adjusting, no goose neck. Seems to work as good if not better then other pop screens. Love it.

Wow...nice product, used it on a T-Funkin U-47, tested in anachoic chamber and only saw high end affected ±1 dB at the most...totally acceptable.
