The chestnut The Brooklyn Shoulder Bag from ONA takes you back decades when durable school bags were the order of the day. This elegant leather-crafted bag has the rich-grained look and feel of an old-style shoulder bag that held math, English and history books. Now, it has been re-designed to handle your DSLR with an attached lens plus 3 extra lenses and the various accessories that you need.

The interior is supplied with three movable dividers with which you can customize the bag to suit your shooting purposes. In addition, the rear has a slip pocket in which you can store your iPad or e-Reader. The front has another slip pocket where you can place pens, note pads, wallet or other small items like batteries, memory or business cards.

The Brooklyn is carried by its adjustable, padded strap that has a wide shoulder pad for added comfort. It also contains a top grab handle that has been reinforced with metal hardware. Keep it closed with the two front buckles that add even more style to this textured bag.

The Brooklyn is great for a quick shoot where you don't need too much gear or a weekend excursion that doesn't require a larger, more encompassing bag. In either case, you'll be investing in a bag that is stylish and functional and that doesn't look like a traditional camera bag. It will make a statement that you are a discriminating person who prefers to be a non-conformist when it comes to his shoulder bag.

Had been looking for a classier bag to wear to weddings... this definitely looks the part!Would have appreciated more pockets (nowhere secure to put SD/CD cards!) and just a touch more space, but pretty happy.Holds (as an example) my D800 with Sigma 35mm f1.4 in the middle, a 105mm on one side and 85mm f1.4 on the other. It can be a *very* tight squeeze to get anything wider in (eg lens hood when it's on the 70-200mm), and you don't want to pack much more than a cell phone and a rear lens cap into the front pocket, or it'll be difficult to close the bag.Height-wise, you need to take the lens hood off the 70-200mm in order to fit it in, but every other lens I own goes in nicely.Camera-wise, you probably couldn't fit a camera with a grip into this bag. Even with the TT5 on top of my d800 it's difficult to squeeze the camera in... so that's a note of warning. :)

A beautiful well made bag, that just is not large enough for me. It might suit others, but it just does not fit my needs. Once I put my 70-200 in I have to decide whether to put another lens in or my camera body. Both will not fit, and I have not even gotten to the flash yet. I thought that I would be able to put these few pieces that I use the most in and be on my merry way. Not on your life. I have been searching high and low for a leather camera bag and thought that I had found one that at least would fill my minimum needs. Sorry, not to be. Great leather, small interior. Make it twice as large, youwill have a customer for life. Still a nice bag, but I have to carry the camera with lens attached on my shoulder, and the rest in the bag. At least I look smart doing it though, it is a stylish bag.

Comments about The Brooklyn Shoulder Bag (Chestnut):

I have an Olympus OM DE M1, micro 4/3 model. I carry a flash and an extra lens and it's a good fit, with a divider section open for my personal items. I only use 2 of the 3 included dividers. I could also carry one more lens, and my iPad mini. I think if I had a full size camera, it would be a snug fit. And if the gear was any heavier, it would not be comfortable for long. But I wanted something that looks nice for when I shoot a dressy affair. The color is darker than the picture, but I am still happy with it. It would have been nice of the strap had a comfort pad!

This is a beautiful bag!! It holds my Canon 7D, a lens, one speedlite, and two Pocket Wizards on the inside. The outside pockets are great for memory cards and batteries. Easy to use clasp and adjustabel strap to choose how long you would like it to hang are also great.

Beautiful Bag Just a Bit Too Small

        By Steph

        from New Jersey

Comments about The Brooklyn Shoulder Bag (Chestnut):

I have been looking at this bag for ages. I finally bit the bullet and got it. It is well made. The padding is great but I didn't expect it to be so small on this inside. Even watching the video and looking at the photos. I can't carry my normal amount of items inside due to the lack of interior pockets. It does fit my Nikon D300 with lens attached with lens facing up and I squeezed in my 50mm thats about it for the inside. I'm getting used to the size. Its very comfortable and really beautiful.

Comments about The Brooklyn Shoulder Bag (Chestnut):

My ONA Brooklyn (chestnut) arrived last week. What an awesome belated Merry Christmas gift that was to open. I have wanted this bag for quite sometime. The colour is absolutely beautiful. Such a deep rich brown. I went over it from top to bottom and the stitching is perfect everywhere. No marks on the leather. The strap is long enough that you can wear it across your shoulder to ease up some of the weight when full, with a buckle for adjustments. The front clasps are so effortless to open and close. Making lens changes so much easier. The velcro dividers inside are removable and adjustable for a custom fit. It could hold my DSLR, 4 lenses and an iPad no problem. I emailed ONA and was told to use a leather cream once in awhile to protect it. I have not one negative thing to say about this gorgeous bag! It exceeded all of my expectations. I just love it!

Looked good but was not for me!

          By Sloth and

          from Los Angeles, CA.

Comments about The Brooklyn Shoulder Bag (Chestnut):

Upon viewing the video that accompanied the description of the bag, it appeared to house an DSLR with a lens attached; however, the description of the bag did not indicate the size of the body. Upon receipt of the bag-I quickly realized that the bag would only accompany a small size (prosumer) body and lens. As it turned out, I have a Nikon D3 with a 24-70MM attached. Even upon removing my lens and just placing the body only in the bag, it did not leave much room for the lens or a flash or any other piece of equipment.

I ended up returning the bag because I simply could not use it. In my opinion, when describing the bag-it should be made clear that it is not designed for Pro sized camera bodies or it's accessories. It is a very nice shoulder bag-it simply was not for me.

I would not recommend this bag to anyone who uses a Pro camera body/lens.

I had read some dubious reviews and was on the fence about this bag, but finally decided to take a leap and get it. I made a great choice! I was using the Shootsac before this bag (I love the Shootsac) and was hoping the ONA bag would fit the same amount of gear the Shootsac does. The ONA sure does! And it is comfortable too! I love this bag and am very happy with my purchase.

The design, quality, and style of this bag are all exactly what you think they would be, and well worth the price tag. This is a bag that is slightly more expensive than others, but well worth the money. Stylish, comfortable, and well made. Just buy it.

This camera bag is perfect for the photographer who prefers a fashionable option to a nylon and mesh one. While it is a bit pricey, the leather is very high quality, and they are locally produced in Brooklyn, so it felt worth the splurge. It comfortably houses my Nikon D90, an additional lens, and other camera-related goodies. The adjustable strap is comfortable, and the inside dividers can be re-arranged to suit your specific needs, which is great. I love this bag!

This bag is both functional and fashionable. I have been using this bag to carry my camera and accessories to school and various events and love it! I like how it's not as chunky as other camera bags and is great for carting around gear in style yet keeping protection high. The only negative thing I can say about this is the strap is a little long(I myself being on the short end) but still is wonderfull!
