Pro Tools 10 from Avid is complete audio recording and music creation software. Continuing the progress made in version 9, Pro Tools 10 functions with both Avid hardware and any Core Audio or ASIO interface. New additions include clip gain, the ability to use multiple audio formats in a session, an enhanced disk handler, and the Avid Channel Strip plug-in.
Automatic Delay Compensation (ADC) has been expanded to allow for longer delay settings, fade-heavy sessions open faster and get better responsiveness with real-time fades, and mixes can be exported directly to SoundCloud to share and promote your music. Multi-track Beat Detective, a Timecode ruler, OMF/AAF/MXF interchange support, and DigiBase Pro file management all enhance workflow.
Five-hundred additional Pro Tools commands can be accessed when using EUCON controllers and extra long-format projects can now be created for sequential versioning with the extended 24-hour timeline. Working with AudioSuite processor is enhanced with reverse processing, handles, and more. Pro Tools 10 refines the world's most popular music and audio production platform allowing the musician/engineer/producer to compose, record, sequence, edit, and mix the way they want.

I have been using Pro Tools 10 for about two weeks now. When I first got it, I was unable to get it work but Avid's customer service was excellent. They told me what I needed to do to the program to get it to start. They continue to help me with other things as well. Great Customers service, very important. It is a complicated program but I feel its been worth the learning curve. Lots of resources out there to help. I put my orchestra scores into to mix/master them. I have had it for two week almost and feel I have learned so much about the program. I would recommend everyone to go Avid. Enjoy!!

There are many eq, compression and reverb presets, but they are difficult to find documentation about, and they don't sound great out of the box so they require more tweaking than I hoped since I'm not an expert. I bought this because as a songwriter I want to know the most-used DAW software, and want to record great demos using only microphones. I also bought it because I heard it had good presets. Wish there was a version of this tool that offered more instrument-specific channel strip presets that didn't require as much tweaking, and less features I don't need like video-related stuff and sound loops. Also, the user interface looks like there will be a challenging learning curve, coming from Adobe Audition 3.0, which was pretty simple, yet did everything I needed except it didn't have enough effect presets. Oh yeah, and it's way too expensive and doesn't work if you don't have the right buffer sizes for your audio interface.

Great product ordered the Boxed version with Ilok,for my Studio computer. I am interfacing to Pro Tools using a Tascam US-1800 and it all loaded and fired up like a breeze and so far so good. I use a 32" LCD TV for the monitor. SO HAPPY with B and H how they sell all this gearcheaper than anyone else and also Free Shippingis beyond me.
