It fits perfectly... Just pull the "wings" apart and slide the old one upward, and slide the new one down in place.
I do wish it were rubber instead of plastic with a rubberized coating though.

To be fair, the item itself is exactly what you had when you got your Sony DSLT camera, but the design makes it terribly easy to knock it off the camera. I lost my piece while having the camera around my neck with the supplied neckstrap, and the eyepiece cup fell off sometime during the day just by the camera occasionally rubbing against my chest. Of course, it was already cracked and trampled on by the time I realized it fell off and went back to look for it 3 hours later, but point being that it should not have fallen off to begin with. Camera felt naked without it, so I finally got a replacement and glued it on cause I'm never planning to change it with another cup and with the swivel LCD, don't make much use of the EVF.

Comments about Sony FDAEP8AM Eyepiece Cup:
The original eye piece that came with my camera fell off all the time, and just didn't fit well. It never really "clicked" on. This replacement fits more snug than the original, and actually "clicks." It has not fallen off since I got it!

Comments about Sony FDAEP8AM Eyepiece Cup:
The A33, A55 etc have eyepieces that stick out so far it is easy to knock them off. I did not even notice mine was gone since I alwsys use the LCD. This item is a perfect replacement and is not very expensive, buy it if you need it.

Lost my A33 eye piece walking around Manhattan on a sling strap. This fits perfectly and feels like a tighter grip with the view finder than the one that came with the camera. I purchased two because I'm sure I will lose it again in the future.

Comments about Sony FDAEP8AM Eyepiece Cup:
The original part has fallen off several times but I've found it ... So far. I know that one day it will be gone forever. So I bought a replacement with that day in mind.
I can't imagine not using one of these on my A55.

This is the eye piece for my A33 DSLR camera I love the piece it is important for the camera's viewfinder to be viewed well. The only thing is that this is the second time Ive had to buy one due to the piece being removable for some reason.
