The PIXMA MG2120 Color All-In-One Inkjet Photo Printer from Canon delivers color prints at 4.8 ppm and black at 8.4 ppm. The printer uses Canon's FINE ink technology to provide photo-quality printing right from your own computer. Borderless photos can be printed in standard photo sizes from 4.0 x 6.0" up to 8.5 x 11.0". For documents, the printer can handle up to legal-size pages. The included Easy WebPrint EX utility makes it easy to print exactly what you want from the web without wasting paper. The utility lets you collect sections from multiple web pages and rearrange them before printing. The printer uses a 2-cartridge ink system, making it easy to maintain and replace your ink cartridges.
The built-in flatbed scanner provides the ability to scan both photos and documents. The auto scan mode detects whether you are scanning a photo or a document. Should a photo need to be corrected, simply use the Auto Photo Fix II to ensure your scanned photos look their best. The scanner software also lets you apply filter effects such as fish eye, miniature, and toy camera to your photos. You can even use the software to extract a single frame from an HD movie clip and print it as an image.

I bought this printer mainly for its scanning ablility. I am VERY satisfied with the scan quality achieved. If you are buying this mainly to use as a printer, be aware that the ink is very expensive and no generic was available. You must also have a printer cable available (not expensive). I was also disappointed with the amount of software the installation disk installed on my computer.

I have several Cannon products, and I have always found them to be reliable. When I saw the price on this item there was no way I could pass it up. Set-up was simple, and it works with no problems. My girlfriend also has had another model PIXMA that has worked for her for a few years with no issues. Hers does not have a scanner, and it is always useful to have one in the house.
The only 'cons' I have are minor issues, and they will probably not be cons to everyone who reads them. First, the unit is a little bulky - both of our computer desks are only moderate size, and it will take up a decent amount of space (it would be smaller if it wasn't also a scanner). However, it is all front load so it can rest against the back of the desk/wall. Second, the warm-up time if just wanting to print one document quickly seems a little long (a minor complaint).
I have not tried to print photos yet.

Well I guess I should have read description a little further than STUDENT printer. Wasn't aware that it was JUST for photos and not regular printing jobs for a college student. I have used this to print out over 600 photos and have not had 1 problem with it. I printed photos that I had taken through out the year for the senior soccer players at my son's school and at the end of the season, I made 8 senior photo books with all of there photos. I love this and only wish I would have gotten one sooner.

For the money, this is a quality entry-level printer. I am completely happy with its performance (speed, print quality, + use of ink), after about 1500 sheets. It is a little loud, but aren't all printers.

I have several Cannon products, and I have always found them to be reliable. When I saw the price on this item there was no way I could pass it up. Set-up was simple, and it works with no problems. My girlfriend also has had another model PIXMA that has worked for her for a few years with no issues. Hers does not have a scanner, and it is always useful to have one in the house.
The only 'cons' I have are minor issues, and they will probably not be cons to everyone who reads them. First, the unit is a little bulky - both of our computer desks are only moderate size, and it will take up a decent amount of space (it would be smaller if it wasn't also a scanner). However, it is all front load so it can rest against the back of the desk/wall. Second, the warm-up time if just wanting to print one document quickly seems a little long (a minor complaint).
I have not tried to print photos yet.

easy to set up.i like to print alot and the pictures come out good.I used alot printers before but this one great for the price.The ink you can buy at your big retailer store.It also scans good.

Well I guess I should have read description a little further than STUDENT printer. Wasn't aware that it was JUST for photos and not regular printing jobs for a college student. Great for printing PHOTOS and the cartridges are not that expensive. So now we have 3 printers for printing pictures but hey that's great also. Thanks

I have used this to print out over 600 photos and have not had 1 problem with it. I printed photos that I had taken through out the year for the senior soccer players at my son's school and at the end of the season, I made 8 senior photo books with all of there photos. I love this and only wish I would have gotten one sooner.

This printer is very easy to setup and it can do everything a printer can do. It is not wireless but no big deal. The price is excellent and I would recommend it to other people. It will be better if it comes with the A to B USB cable connecting to the computer.
