The Photo Clam PC-40NS Ball Head features extremely strong ball-locking for a remarkably high 77 lb load capacity. The head has separate knobs for locking the ball and the pan base, enabling you to keep the orientation of your framing locked while you pan. This makes it appropriate for panoramic photography.
Within the ball-locking knob there's a dial for applying progressive biaxial friction, to accommodate lighter and heavier camera setups across the head's vast load capacity.
The head features a slot for tilting 90° to portrait orientation. Bubble levels allow you to ensure that your framing hews to the horizon in either landscape or portrait orientation. Featuring a sturdy knob for its clamp, the Arca-style quick-release platform is compatible with camera plates (sold separately) from Photo Clam as well as other manufacturers such as Kirk, Arca-Swiss, and Really Right Stuff.

Comments about Photo Clam PC-40NS Ball Head:
I am impressed with the Photo Clam. I am a food photographer and my shooting angles only vary slightly. The Photo Calm head allows me the pinpoint adjustments that I need once I got use to the adjustmemt knobs. I got a good price at B&H and I thought the shipping options were reasonable. I would recommend the Ball Head and the retailer.
