Designed for business and multimedia fun, the N75SF-DH71 17.3" Notebook Computer (Black) from ASUS combines powerful hardware with a user-friendly design. It is also designed to be energy efficient, so you can work longer before having to recharge the computer's battery.
The 17.3" widescreen display is backlit with LED lamps, which brighten faster, are more energy efficient, and provide better image quality than their CCFL counterparts. The screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is the same standard for HDTVs, and it allows you to display content at a native Full High Definition resolution of 1920 x 1080. For smoothly processing visuals and graphics for Blu-ray movies, games, and more, the notebook relies upon the NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M graphics card, which has 2GB of dedicated memory.
The system is powered by a quad-core 2.2GHz Intel Core i7-2670QM processor. It has 8GB of DDR3 RAM to allow for quick multitasking, an ample 1TB hard drive that spins at the disk speed of 7200rpm, a Blu-ray burner, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0+HS, an integrated 2-megapixel webcam and microphone as well as built-in stereo speakers. ASUS has, in my opinion, the worst technical support team on earth. My web cam came with the wrong drivers and in three months they have been unable to guide me to a source for the correct drivers. Instead, the want me to wipe my machine and reload everything or send the machine back to them.
This is a shame as otherwise I might have given this model 5 stars.

This has become my primary business notebook. It can run any software I have (and I have LOTS) very quickly and competently. It is very quiet, it is light for its size, its 17-inch HD screen is beautiful to look at, the keyboard is delightful, there are many configuration options built into the machine. Best notebook I've ever owned, even compared with some at over twice the price. My only complaint is that the two 500GB hard drives arrived partitioned into two 250GB logical drives each, which I didn't realize until I had loaded LOTS of software on drive c. But I can live with it. If I bought another one, I would recombine the partitions so that I'd have two 500 GB physical drives before I started loading software. The battery is very long-lived for a notebook of this size and power. And the audio is stunning, although I didn't buy it for that.

I wish I could give this a minus/negative star rating. Upon arrival I connected the laptop to my 10 month old 23" IPS monitor of the same make, Asus. I did a clean install of LR3 & PSCS5. Loaded a few photos into the LR3 library . . . . . BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH upon using LR3 "Adjustment Brush", moving a photo from LR3 to PSCS5 using the "Edit In" function, and when in PSCS5 using the Spot Healing Brush will cause BSoD/CRASH. After 5 calls to Asus tech support and about 8 man hours over re loading the OS and aforementioned software it was discovered that the laptop worked fine as a stand alone. However, connect it to a monitor, any monitor and it CRASHES. The laptop is on it's way to back to Asus for the SECOND TIME for repair for the same problem. Apparently Asus does not test a reapaired product before returning it to the consumer. Also noteworthy of mention is in the product specs it states that you will receive OS media. NOT SO! Instead you get a piece of papper telling you to create your own back up disk.
