Comments about Lenovo Enhanced Multimedia Remote with Backlit Keyboard N5902:

I am a computer programmer and recent father of twins. I purchased this product so that I could type while holding one of my children. While this product is clearly not designed for that use case, it is significantly easier to use than a full size keyboard and mouse. The nonstandard keyboard layout is awkward (the rows are not offset, so z is below q instead of w) and there are no function keys. Other than that, the product seems to be well built and has worked without any mechanical issues.

Comments about Lenovo Enhanced Multimedia Remote with Backlit Keyboard N5902:

For the last five years or so we have used an HTPC as our central entertainment unit, and, from the beginning, the only drawback has been the weak performance of various wireless mice and keyboards. We have had a total of five different systems, all with great promise, but each letting us down, either in wireless reliability, position accuracy, or ability to perform well at a range of computer use tasks (not just play and volume up).
The Lenovo N5902 is an exceptional replacement for the functionality of a wired mouse and keyboard. The wireless signal reliability is good, even passing through me back to the reciever (something no other system I have had could do). The unit "wakes up" quickly from a battery-saving mode after it has sat idle, requiring no special button presses or restarts. The optical finger tracking and scroll panel have just the right amount of sensitivity, and having actual buttons to click for left and right mouse functions is critical. Lenovo resisted the temptation of adding lots of function-specific keys to the keypad, but there are handy things like volume for easy access. The batteries are removable standard AA, so there is no charging dock. You just swap out your own rechargeables if you want to. Lastly (and this is really important for a remote you will be using while watching movies), the keypad is backlit. It goes dark when idle and comes back when you use it. It could be a little more evenly lit, and maybe a little brighter, but it does the job as-is.
I've had a lot of dissappointing interfaces before this, so I know what works and what doesn't, and the Lenovo hits all the right points without any drawbacks or extra fluff.

Comments about Lenovo Enhanced Multimedia Remote with Backlit Keyboard N5902:

I have owned several different media center controllers, including the previous version of this Lenovo remote. This one is by far the best of the bunch and the new features they added are great. I particularly like the backlit keyboard and the scrollwheel/pad. These are worth the cost of upgrading.
