With Yamaha's PDX-11 Speaker Dock for iPhone & iPod (White), you can enjoy tunes from your iPhone, iPod and other digital audio devices wherever you go. The top-mounted dock works with several iPhone and iPod models, and you can connect other devices like a laptop computer or smartphone using the stereo input jack. The speaker has an octagonal shape and perforated steel grille that allow it to stand up to the rigors of providing sound amplification on-the-go.
On the technical side, the system is has a 4-inch woofer and separate tweeter to lend your playlists deep bass and stunning mid-range, plus crystal clear highs. Enjoy unlimited jam-time using AC power, or up to eight hours using batteries. That also makes it easy to take your PDX-11 to the park, the beach, or anywhere else you roam.

Purchased this product in the last few weeks before a beach trip. There are some good things about it and it fit a certain need. It is mid-level expensive, not high end, and seems very durable so I had no problem taking it to the beach, to the park, etc. It actually gets pretty nice and lound for being rather small, which was great. Also, I think it looks pretty sweet, and like the handle.My main problem with this product is that it has no EQ, and the bass is too high, gets distorted when you turn it all the way up, which makes music that already has bass (especially rap but other stuff too) sound a little bad when it is at full or close to full volume.

I gave it 4 stars - great little speaker that's really light and super portable. I use this in the kitchen, my daughter uses it in her bedroom and I also use it in the backyard. In the near future I'll take it camping. The sound is pretty good and clear but if you're looking for something loud, this isn't for you. I can hear it clearly in the backyard though as it carries sound well.
It charges your iPod/iPhone while it's plugged in to an outlet but not when its just using batteries. It would be nice if there was an option to not charge it while being plugged in, but that's minor.
The only other thing I would like is if it were a little more stable. It hasn't rolled over on me yet but it's not the most stable unit out there. The remote is a nice feature and works well, although there is no holder on the unit for it.
Pretty good purchase though, I'm happy with it.

Using it as a imac external speaker its audio is crisp and clean with exceptional fidelity to the source. In addition the remote is pocket sized and a useful accessory.The handle is ergonomically designed.

Great sound, nice design, good base. It's not a full stereo but why needs stereo effect for this size? Even comes with a small useful remote. One minor problem is a shape, interesting shape but sometime not stable and rolls around.

This unit is brilliant for taking your ipod music wherever you go.... plugs into a power outlet or load it with "AA" batteries and you have music.
The sound is excellent with good base whilst the unit itself is very light.
