The Habbycam HD Camera Brace puts a DSLR camera or small to mid-size camcorder on your shoulder and provides two comfortable hand grips so you can capture steady, smooth handheld shots with comfort and ease. The rig features a 3/4"-thick pad for your shoulder and fully adjustable components – you can tweak the positioning of both hand grips, and adjust the distance from the camcorder's LCD to your eye.

The shoulder brace features several 1/4"-20 mounting holes on both its top and rear, presenting a perfect platform for mounting a wireless audio receiver, a battery or other counterweight, or any other camera accessory. The camera plate has a standard 1/4"-20 screw for mounting any camcorder or video-enabled still camera with a corresponding threaded hole – up to and including such relatively heavy models (13 lb or so) as the RED ONE.

With a counterweight attached to the back (not included) the HD Camera Brace rig provides front-to-back balance, taking part of the load off your arms and wrists. Even without weights, the shoulder mounting takes much of the strain off your wrists and arms and places the weight closer to the core of your body, to help you operate comfortably for much longer periods of time with handheld camcorders. Besides comfort, the other crucial result is steadier operation for more professional-looking video.

Comments about Habbycam HD Camera Brace:

Want to thank the reviewer below for taking the time to review this product. Looking at all the cam supports, I ended up with this one and very very happy so far. Please read primm's review below. His was one of the reasons I chose this product. My photos below show a few add ons. The Varizoom lanc (VAVZRL100), the Habbycam 2 lbs weight, misc. 1/4 20 hardware from Ace as a support leg below 2 lbs. weight on shoulder component, a custom box made for an Audio-Technica wireless receiver. Last but not least, and you can never have enough of these, a Manfrotto 577 Rapid Connect Adapter with Sliding Mounting Plate (501PL).
Love the red components! Love the price too. Made in the U.S.A.!!!

Comments about Habbycam HD Camera Brace:

This shoulder support is exactly what I needed. I have a cheaper shoulder support I bought a few years ago to use with one of my Canon XH-A1's. The older support was useful and it served its purpose but I was always fatigued and trying to keep it from being top heavy and front heavy never was comfortable. If you have DSLRs this thing is made for them too.

Now that I got this rig it's my dream has come true with a great price tag. I've been looking for some time at different shoulder supports and the ones I wanted cast about 500 +. Then I saw this one at B&H and saw that it might be for me. They had it at the retail price and I held off, it still was a great price, but I waited, good thing I did they dropped the price so I grabbed it up. I thought if it did not work for me or I did not like it, B&H has a great return policy. If someone was to look at it you'd think you paid twice the amount for it. Great construction, attractive aluminum no plastic parts except for the tie downs which are a hard heavy duty plastic with metal screws in the middle. Fully customizable, having two handles is a must for steady and long recording and with a heavy camera like mine. The handles have great comfortable grips similar to a mountain bike handle bar grips. The best thing about this rig is having mounting options on the shoulder pad. To me there is no reason that this shoulder support should not be B&H's top seller. On the shoulder pad you can mount recording accessories (How innovative) and take the weight that would normally be on the front of your camera off and put it on your shoulder instead. Also you can ad counter weight to the rear of the shoulder support to lesson the front weight and put it on your shoulder instead, where it should be in the first place.

I added some pictures to this review where you can see my setup. I placed a canon zoom remote on the handle bar so my hand does not have to leave the handle grip to control the zoom or start and stop the recording. I got a zoomed in view of it. I have a Sony compact flash recorder that I mounted to the shoulder rest and it becomes a counter weight too. I added my own weight from some left over weights from my glidecam to balance the weight on my shoulder. Since taking these photos I added some more weight to the rear that now my heavy rig hardly puts any weight on my arms. I'm able to move around and get steady smooth shots without fatigue with this great setup.

If you've been looking for a shoulder support for your camera light or heavy get this.
