As mentioned, there's a separate computer compartment as well as a large mesh accessory pocket for filters, maps, cleaning cloths or business cards. That is complimented by another cleverly placed zippered pocket within the back flap. Inside that area you can store more accessories like cables, pens and adapters.

For the nature photographer, there's a handy tripod holder comprised of a tuck-away pocket for the feet and adjustable strap for the legs. Water bottle holder and hidden cell phone slot finish off this well-priced and full-featured pack that is backed by Ape's lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects.

Let me tell you that I definitely did not expect this backpack to be this big. It's definitely a full size unit that a lot of other brands sell for two-three hundred dollars. The only reason it's not is because it doesn't have roller wheels or an extension handle but since I don't travel in the airports a lot and mostly use it on my back, it's not problem. So let's start with the pros:

      Pros:
-This this is big. I mean huge. I intended to only fit my camera gear (I'm a semi-professional DSLR film maker) and have a separate case for my audio equipment. I crammed my Canon 7D with Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 lens, a 70-200mm f2.8 lens, my kit 18-135mm lens, batteries, CF cards, intervalometer, two circular filters, and two 3ft. HDMI cables and STILL had so much extra room that I just fitted the rest of my audio gear into it too! So I packed in my Zoom H4n, batteries for that, a pistol grip with a 20ft XLR cable, Rode NTG-2 shotgun microphone, and SD cards for the H4n. And everything fits snugly, not squished, but snug. I feel like everything is well protected. Oh and it also holds my 15" Macbook Pro very snug too.
-So many pockets! I had this backpack for almost two weeks now and I'm still discovering new folds of pockets. The bright yellow interior does make finding small things like screws and other dark accessories stand out though I can see it getting dirty easily but the material is safe enough to take a damp towel to wipe anything down.
-Weather sealing! Even when you don't need the built-in rain cover, all the zippers on this backpack are heavy duty and fold underneath a layer of weather resistance fabric to keep them from being exposed. Yes it might be difficult sometimes to having to fold up this layer to slide the zippers smoothly but it's a small inconvenience when your transporting your gear in light rain and don't want any water inside. And for those pouring days, the rain cover completely covers every corner of the backpack to your back and even wraps around the top of the shoulder straps to ensure maximum coverage. The only thing is this cover isn't removable, meaning you can't really throw it in the washer if it gets really dirty but again, nothing a damp towel can't clean up.
-Extremely comfortable to wear. The padding, the waist belt, the chest strap, everything makes this backpack wearable for an entended period of time. The air-mesh backing really makes a difference and although this backpack is probably three times heavier than my old backpack, I enjoy how the weight is distributed on my body with the ApeCase and it just feels better to wear than anything else I've tried. The straps are well made along with the extremely heavy duty top handle which reminds me of the Pelican Case handles. Yeah.

      Cons:
-This thing is heavy when fully loaded. It's a given though, the larger the case, the more stuff that can go in, the heavier it will be.
-Front compartment is too tiny to access. The actual front compartment is large enough to put in a folder and a spiral notebook along with mesh pockets for card readers, flashlights, laptop mice, pens, etc but the front zipper, when fully openly, doesn't seem to give me much space to access inside. I had to bend the notebook and folder to fit in the opening but once inside there's plenty of room. I just don't know why they made it so difficult to access. It's only a minor bug.
-Not meant for quick access of camera! A lot of camera backpacks there are made so you can quickly take out your camera and a few accessories really quick for that 'moment' shot should you encounter it while traveling with the case on your back. This backpack however is built like a tank! And I mean to access your camera you need to open two layers of zippered compartments and undo a safety strap over the camera section. However I do planned studious shoots so the run and gun style isn't my game. Some of you might take this as the deal breaker and may reconsider if quick access is most important to you. This case is made for ultimate protection and quick access would have counteracted that.

That's it. Wow what a long review. Hope it wasn't too long to read. I believe the pros strongly outweigh the cons and so all the cons were justified by their pro counterparts, except for the small front compartment, but I can let that slide and give this pack 5 full stars.

Much bigger and heavier than I expected. No fault of B&H Photo. They listed the size and weight. Just didn't realize what a monster of a bag it would be. I had to return it for something smaller (but still fit a 16" laptop.) Went with a Case Logic. The quality doesn't seem as good as the ape case, but it's definitely a better fit for my small amount of gear.

Got this backpack case after a lens fell out and broke from my former backpack. No way that is happening with this backpack. It is well padded and the equipment is protected behind multiple compartments. It is bulky, so just know you are not getting a day trip bag.

Big enough for 2 DSLRs with 300mm telephoto lenses, additional lenses, Flash, batteries and chargers, video camera, batteries and charger, and Laptop with all necesary cables. Was looking for a single bag to carry EVERYTHING in one bag....and I think I found it.

Not traveled with it yet, so can't fully rate the bag.

Well constructed and very comfortable. This is a large backpack. I carry a camera body and 4 lenses, speedlight, radio triggers, filters and other accessories. I still have room for more. There are plenty of pockets for accessory storage. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that it requires opening 2 zippers to get to camera. I tried leaving the 2nd zipper unzipped, but then it interferes with the 1st zipper. It probably takes about 2 seconds to open the 2nd zipper, but would have been better with no 2nd zipper.

The only reason this pack does not get 5 stars is that I would like to have longer velcro dividers which would give the pack more flexibility. The dividers are all the same size length thereby limiting modifications. I am still able to pack 2 pro bodies - one with 18-35 lens and the other with 80-200 lens, a strobe, and a 300 2.8. I really like the easy access to my gear and all the pockets. This will be a great pack for travel (less the 300 2.8).

Comments about Ape Case ACPRO2000 Digital SLR and Laptop Backpack (Black):

First, I want to comment on the terrific and positive experience I had with the B&H sales representative. I described what I needed and he directed me to the ACPRO 2000 which performs as well as the other one I was considering at nearly twice the price. He went out of his way to assure that I got what I needed, not what he wanted to sell me. That is reason enough alone to assure that I will be a frequently returning customer to B&H.

The backpack holds more equipment than I normally would carry, but I will use the extra room to carry some other things I need to take with me. The shoulder straps are wide and well-padded and comfortable to wear. There is plenty of room on the interior for me to carry the lenses I will take with me as well as a flash, extra batteries, etc. The product seems well made and durable.

The only negative is that accessing the interior to get to my camera and lens is more complicated than it should be. I have to remove the pack from my back and then struggle with a zipper that is hindered by its waterproof cover. Not a major issue, but a minor annoyance.

This product is a great value, especially when compared with other products of similar capacity.

This bag is a rugged, bombproof, inexpensive fully weaponized camera gear bag. I can fit multiple bodies, lenses, iPad and Laptop. I have had this bag for sometime and it is massive. If you need a bag like this, get it.

If you're a camerista, who "lives" by Tenba, LowePro or the like (great gear, btw, just way more expensive) there is nothing those camera bag manufacturers offer that this bag cannot deliver. Built in raincover tucks away neatly as does the tripod holder-all at a great price.

Good material. Nice and sturdy feel. I think my gear would survive a fall from a desk or chair. Good space for newer thin laptop. Clunky 10yr olds laptop, not so much. It was priced more than my original budget of $100. The compartment configuration was the selling point. I have one body, 2 flashes and lots of filters, flash modifier and batteries. My only real dislike for the bag is no quick access to gear. You have to remove the laptop and unzip the entire bag to get to the main compartment.

This is a great bag with tons of space for camera gear and laptop. The bright yellow inside makes locating small pieces easy. The camera gear and laptop are very well protected and the bag has a waterproof sleeve that slides over the bag in inclemet weather. there are plenty of pockets and also 2 straps to attach a tripod on the bottom of the bag. I needed a bag to carry my gear and laptop as I'm going to start photography course at college and this was an excellent investment

I was surprised at just how large this backpack was! In the main compartment alone, I have two camera bodies, 5 lenses - including a 70-200 2.8, 5 Pocketwizards, 2 speedlights, a wireless commander, and a portable storage device. There is also room for a laptop, and all of the smaller accessories you'd carry along for a shoot.
I've only had it for about one week, but it seems to be extremely durable. With all of the gear in it, it is actually not too heavy at all.

The rain cover is a very nice addition, and have already used it! So far I love everything about it. It's a bit large if you are just going around town shooting pictures.

Rugged and weather resistant for sure! I love it!

I needed a new bag to hold my increasing collection of equipment and this bag seemed like the good buy. Boy, was I right. Just finished putting 7 lenses with hoods and protective pouches, 2 Nikon DSLRs, a Nikon flash with all of its trimmings, and had one area in the main compartment open for cleaning supplies. Also got all of the battery chargers and wires for both cameras in the bag and a shutter release. And I also had to take a yellow divider out so I can still rearrange in case I need to. It does get heavy with all of that equipment so I wouldn't recommend this bag for a dedicated outdoor hiking day. I couldn't be happier than I am with this bag and can't imagine what you can get into his big brother. Overall I think this is a great bag for your camera gear. First purchase from Ape Case and won't be the last.

Comments about Ape Case ACPRO2000 Digital SLR and Laptop Backpack (Black):

This is a huge bag and not something that one can carry around for easy storage/access. There is no quick access to the camera or lenses. You have to remove two zippers to lay open the camera compartment. It is the Fort Knox of camera bags.
That said, short of a hard case, it is one of the best bags that I have seen to protect your gear. The brightly coloured storage area is extremely versatile to arrange the gear. There is lots of room for camera bodies, lenses, filters, hoods, teleconverters and what-have-you. The laptop holder might not fit some larger models comfortably but is fine for most notebooks. The outside compartment is somewhat tight for anything large that needs frequent access. I would have liked a mesh to hold the water bottle. The handles and straps look sturdy.
This is a fantastic bag to carry your gear from A to B but not the ideal one to lug around on an afternoon shoot.
