The WR300N 300Mbps 802.11n Extender, Access Point, and Bridge from Diamond Multimedia is an extremely easy-to-use means of keeping you and your compatible devices connected to the Internet. The WR300N plugs into a power outlet and combines three functions in one.
As a Wireless Range Extender, it can pick up a weak 802.11b/g/n signal, say from your office or home router, and extend that signal to greater distances. This function is great for eliminating dead spots where Wi-Fi signals previously weren't able to reach.
As a Standalone Wireless Access Point, you can connect the device via its Fast Ethernet port to a wired router, cable modem, or DSL modem, and it will wirelessly send out a signal. In this way, it can connect your nearby Wi-Fi devices to the Internet.
As a Wireless Bridge, this device can receive a Wi-Fi signal from your wireless network and allow you to establish a wired Internet connection via the Fast Ethernet port to a compatible device, such as an HDTV, gaming console, Blu-ray player, and more. This last function is great for connecting a device that does not support Wi-Fi but that can connect to the Internet.
Beyond these three main functions, this device relies upon WEP, WPA, or WPA2 encryption and MAC Address filtering to secure your network. Compatible with Linux, Mac, and Windows computers, this device is handy-dandy for your home or office networking needs.

Comments about Diamond Multimedia WR300N 300Mbps 802.11n Extender, Access Point, and Bridge:
The unit was advertised as being an easy to set up and use wifi extender. Having used these gadgets before I was skeptical...and my skepticism was well founded. The unit would not communicate with my laptop for the wired setup until I used the reset function...several times. Once that was done, and I got into the setup interface, I was able to initiate all of the settings. However, the unit caused my wireless network to repeatedly crash. Worst of all is that when I submitted a support ticket to Diamond, I was promptly issued a support number, but to this day (over a week later), I haven't received any support from the manufacturer. Stay away. The only good thing from this experience is B and H's stellar customer support, return policy, and speed of customer support. Buy from B and H again....any day! Buy this unit...NO!

Comments about Diamond Multimedia WR300N 300Mbps 802.11n Extender, Access Point, and Bridge:
We bought this to help with a signal strength issue. Using the internet was almost impossible. The main router is a floor below us and on the opposite side of the house.
Setup was easy and only took a couple of minutes. I then plugged this unit in and crossed my fingers....it worked! I went from getting 0-2 bars (and the connection constantly dropping) to a solid 4 bars.
This is one of the best investments we have made! Reliable signal strength on the laptop and now we can update our PS3 games without issue. HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!

Comments about Diamond Multimedia WR300N 300Mbps 802.11n Extender, Access Point, and Bridge:
I studied the reviews of different extenders and decided on this one, and I could not be happier with the WR300. I admit that I was skeptical when I opened it because of its size and lack of external antenna but it is sure doing the job. When I went to link it, my computer could not find it. I checked the online FAQs and found that there can be an issue with some Windows 7 computers, but the FAQ told me how to fix this. After that it works like a breeze and I have a strong signal everywhere in my house. Also thank you to B&H for sending to military addresses - many other companies wouldn't!
