Within 20 minutes I slipped 2 WD Caviar Green 2TB drives in and was using as a Time Machine for a Macbook Pro. Super quiet and straight forward.

Great, cheap usb 3.0 enclosure. Easy to set up. Would be nice if other options of RAID were available.

Comments about Newer Technology Guardian MAXimus Enclosure Q 2-Drive RAID 1:
Popped the drives in worked out of the box i was getting speeds around 60mbps using eSata and caviar black drives at one point it went as high as 100 but it didnt stay there my only complaint's where the cable that connects to the second drive is flimsy and backwards and the fan seemd to be a little flimsy but overall the construction was good.

Comments about Newer Technology Guardian MAXimus Enclosure Q 2-Drive RAID 1:
I needed a quick Time Machine backup for my Mac at work because my old backup drive was failing. I didn't opt for the cheapest enclosure, but I wanted something simple that was plug and play, and this enclosure fit the bill nicely. I also like using my own drives, hence an enclosure.
Set the dip switch on the inside for raid 0 or 1, install the drives, plug it in using any of the three connection types, and it just works. No drivers to install, no hassles.
