Product Highlights
  • Enables Canon EF Lens Use On MFT Camera
  • Control Pad For Aperture Adjustment
  • Set Aperture To Any Stop-1/3, 1/5 Steps
  • Compatible With Most EF Lenses
  • 9V Battery And Power Cable Included

The Redrock Micro LiveLens MFT Active Lens Mount is the first active lens adapter allowing Canon EF lenses to be used with any micro four-thirds (MFT) camera, including the Panasonic AG-AF100, Panasonic GH 1/2, and Olympus PEN cameras. A 9V battery and power cable are included.

Canon EF lenses need power and electronic controls to adjust aperture. Without them, aperture is stuck wide open, severely limiting the usefulness of the lens. The Redrock LiveLens MFT presents a solution to the problem, delivering power to the EF lens and a control pad enabling aperture adjustment. Using the LiveLens MFT, you are able to set the EF lens aperture to any stop in increments as small as 1/3 or 1/5, depending upon the lens. The adapter is compatible with virtually every EF lens on the market today, including variable aperture zoom, prime, consumer-level and professional L-series lenses. It also works with the majority of third party EF-compatible lenses.

Whereas standard "dummy adapters" only physically mount EF lenses to the Micro Four Thirds body, the LiveLens MFT communicates with the lens, giving you the power to adjust aperture without using time-consuming workarounds on set. Quit working around the ability of your lenses, and start making your lenses work for you.

Comments about Redrock Micro LiveLens MFT Active Lens Mount:

From the pictures and some of the other reviews, I was concerned about build quality. However, I was very happy once it arrived. The button panel is much more robust than the pictures seem to indicate, and the fight of the adapter itself is very tight. It's very hard to get the 9v into the holder - that's my only complaint.

Works as it says it does

        By 3filmcrew

Comments about Redrock Micro LiveLens MFT Active Lens Mount:

For those looking for an active mft mount to control the aperture of your non mft mount lenses, this is a great solution. I'moinly giving it 3 stars for the following: it feels cheap for the price tag and changing the battery can feel like a hassle (felt like I was going to break the battery compartment because there's almost no space to snap the battery into place). Other than those two issues, I am actually satisfied with the product. Just make sure you have something to mount the line and battery pack to as it can be a nuance if not mounted properly.

The Redrock LiveLens MFT Active Lens Mount works great with my Panasonic AF100 camcorder. I'm extremely happy with this product. I use all my Canon 5D lens. The F stops are easy to set. The lens fits good on the adaptor. Film making made easier with this Lens Mount. Thank You Radrock.

The battery holder is a cheap plastic thing. The mark around the display is a sticker which was not sticking from day one.The adapter to camera lock is ok but the adtapter to lens is very loose and the lense is not tightly locked. It is functioning but it is definitely not an object of desire.

I use this on my Panasonic AF100 with my Canon EF lenses. While it doesn't control the auto focus, it does control the aperture superbly. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get double the use out of their lenses. Worth the price.

Comments about Redrock Micro LiveLens MFT Active Lens Mount:

This mount does what it is meant to do: it allows you to use Canon EF lenses on the Panasonic AF100. A cord connects the adaptor to a 9 volt battery that allows you to send power to the lens. This enables you to adjust the aperture on the lens. This is critical, of course, since the lens would otherwise be stuck with its aperture wide open. A word of caution about this mount and using Canon EF lenses on the AF100... you cannot use the auto focus or auto exposure capablilities of the lenses. Focus and aperture adjustment need to be done manually - using the waveform monitor, zebras and various focus assisting tools on the camera as reference points. The AF100 is a pro film-style camera, and it is meant to be shot with manual focus and manual exposure anyway. That said, it might make more sense to use manual prime lenses as opposed to canon ef lenses with this camera. I find that the canon ef lenses have manual focus controls that are not as smooth as some lenses that are meant to be adjusted only manually. Of course, if you already have a bunch of really good canon ef lenses (and no prime manual lenses) - it would seem to me that this mount would then make perfect sense. May as well use the canon ef lenses on the af100 if you already have them!
