The black RainCoat Standard from LensCoat offers significant protection for your camera and lens from raw elements like rain, snow, wind, dust and sand while still providing rapid and easy access to all the controls and features of your equipment.
The RainCoat is constructed of waterproof and breathable poly tricot and is adorned with a useful camouflage pattern - so if you're a nature shooter, the additional concealment aspect to it will be of great value. All the seams are tape sealed. Even with all its protection, you will not need an accessory eye piece to look through the camera. The RainCoat fits on easily and is secured via rugged cinch straps that permit full adjustment of the length. The straps also permit you to keep the coat tight-fitted around your lens. The handy fold-out arm sleeve allows you to stick your hand in and control the camera. There's also a rear opening through which the camera is accessible and that is secured using a hook and loop closure.

So far, I've used this during a constant rain in New York City... it works perfectly as far as waterproof covers go. My only gripe would be that it doesn't come with any detailed diagrams that explain how to use it correctly. Aside that, you can't go wrong.

I used this product on Christmas Eve when it was snowing. I took it right out of the package and managed to use it, but there were no instructions.
It was a gift and I think the picture on this survey is the first I've seen. A bit awkward for me. Since I would never take my camera out in a snowstorm, it worked great!

Comments about LensCoat RainCoat Standard (Black):
I found this easy to use and easy to take off, however my boss didn't find it quite as handy. He found it frustrating to use and preferred to put the camera 10 metres away, undercover rather than getting in close. It isn't exactly easy to adjust the focus, but when it was raining and I had to get some different angles it managed to do the trick and I found it easy to take off without any problems.

Widening my skills and wanted to take advantage of some of the lighting, clouds, etc on rainy days. Also wanted to protect the gear from sand, etc on the beaches. The Video on the B&H website convinced me the Lenscoat Raincost was the way to go. Well designed, allows use on tripod, allows me to get my hands directly on the camera without removing the Raincoat. It does take some effort to get it on correctly but I expect to get better with it each time I use it. I am definitely pleased with it so far.

Comments about LensCoat RainCoat Standard (Black):
Not wanting to use an umbrella attached to a tripod, and having not been able to fashion a piece of gear myself, this is a perfect addition to my landscape and wildlife kit. It is KISS designed, which is perfect for me, and really does a fine job of protecting my camera and lenses. I use this when shooting static from a tripod and have even used it handheld in a boat. Perfect.

I was recently out capturing images of birds from a boat, with rain and spray. I was using a two for $9 clear plastic rain guard...that did not work well The camera and lens stil got wet and it was difficult to gain access to the controls, as well as see through the view finder without allowing the rain and spray to get in. The RAINCOAT solved all of these problems. Thanks LensCoat for a great product!

I use this item occasionaly to protect against the rain. I don't know how it will perform in winter as there is no place to keep a hand warmer with the camera. Would be willing to pay more for a plastic window at the rear of the bag, but for the price , it does the job.

Comments about LensCoat RainCoat Standard (Black):
I was looking for a quality raincoat that was easy to install and had plenty of access to the camera. It fits the bill. I use it with a Wimberley WH-200 head and lenses up to 400 f/5.6. Since the back is open with a drawstring, I also got the Lenscoat Body Guard for a little more protection. I should be ready for anything Mother Nature throws at me.
