The Native Union POP Phone with Soft Touch Black Paint Treatment combines retro style with modern technology. It allows you to talk into a comfortable handset whenever you're using your cell phone, tablet or computer to talk. Besides improving call comfort, the POP Phone also allows access to phone function and eliminates over 99% of absorbed phone radiation. The handset is equipped with a noise reduction system and a pick up / hang up button as well. It works with virtually all mobile devices and computers, but an adapter may be required (sold separately). The POP Phone even features a vintage-looking spiral phone cord with a headphone / microphone combo plug.

It plugs into the microphone hole on the ipod and ipad...and my MSI netbook, too. It works fine but you cannot adjust the volume from this headset, like you normally can do with earphones, etc. I wish it had come with an adapter for 2.5 machines but they can be purchased and will be so the headset will work with all of my computers. All in all, nice retro look, too.

I actually use the POP receiver not for my smartphone as I don't talk on it that much, but for when I speak on skype overseas.
I actually record my calls for my audio projects and the receiver gives a really weighty sound to the calls, like the depth you'd get when hearing someone call a radio show from a receiver-type telephone.
I turn off the video function of skype, plug in, and feel I can have a much more focused and indepth conversation with this handheld receiver to my ear - it's the aesthetics that leads to a better functionality for me.
