The Vello FreeWave Plus Wireless Shutter Release system works with a wide variety of camera models just by swapping out the camera release cable. This B&H Kit adds the necessary cable to make this system compatible with Panasonic DMC-FZ100, DMC-FZ150, DMC-FZ200, DMC-G1, DMC-G10, DMC-G2, DMC-G3, DMC-G5, DMC-G6, DMC-GF1, DMC-GF6, DMC-GH1, DMC-GH2, DMC-GH3, DMC-GH4, DMC-GX1, DMC-GX7, DMC-L1 and DMC-L10 cameras. With this cable - and with the two additional cables already included with the FreeWave Fusion (Canon version)- this bundle is compatible with any Panasonic or Canon DSLR camera that supports an external shutter release.

The FreeWave Plus is a complete lightweight remote control outfit that provides a way to trip your camera's shutter while avoiding any possible unwanted camera movement. The FreeWave Plus works in either wired or wireless mode. This is ideal for photographing wildlife, and for macro and close-up photos or long exposures, where the slightest camera movement can ruin a picture.

With the dual function release, press halfway to focus, then press all the way to trigger the shutter. A four-second delay function makes it easy to produce self-portraits. Working on the 2.4GHz frequency gives you reduced radio interference and an extended range (up to 320' (100 m)) - you don't need to have line-of-sight alignment, either, as radio waves will pass through walls, windows and floors.

Comments about Vello FreeWave Plus Wireless Remote Shutter Release (For Select Panasonic & Canon):

Ordered one of these designated to fit selected Canon and Panasonic cameras. First impressions:
- not junky looking. Receiver and transmitter each accept a pair of triple AAA cells, a good easy enough to find power source. The plastic and sliding doors are slick looking black plastic, slide easily, unlike a lot of sliding doors for batteries ( the hatch on my Apple bluetooth mouse should be as nice!)not junky looking at all. The receiver unit has a locking hot shoe that slides easily into the camera top and locks securely.
-Receiver also has a 1/4 bushed thread socket for putting on a light stand if you want to use the camera with your flash occupying the camera's hot shoe. Light weight enough though to just hang loose. (The coiled cable exits just on the correct side to slip into the mini DIN plug on the G's port, in my two Lumixes. I have a G-1 and a GH2. Note that one end of Olympus plug (came packed in separate pouch by B and H) has two black bands on it and the one to camera has three bands.
A surprise for a change is thatthe booklet of instructions is neat, clearly well written and illustrated. Have to be sure to set the dip switches choice on each (frequency) to the ON position, they are easy to get at, clearly marked--- mine came set to OFF when I got the set.
-The receiver has a 2 sec press ON button which starts a red LED flashing, slowly. Push button again and it flashes faster pace and then shuts off the battery power in the receiver. Oh yeah, there is a wide "shutter button" on the receiver too so one can use this as a direct wired cable release, a neat touch, not especially denoted in the booklet, so it substitutes for the rather cheesy looking one from Panasonic IMO.
-The transmitter has only one execute /operational button, no power on and off and don't need same it says. Press it part way and the camera will focus and confirm that by a green LED on transmitter. Press down more and you get the shutter to release and a RED LED on the transmitter confirms same as well as green to red confirmation clearly visible on the receiver on the camera. Very clear, nice thinking. ..
-The Canon slash Panasonic pair ship in a sturdy carton with two Canon style coiled cables, both of good quality as cables go, with gold plated ends, for designated series of Canon cameras. (One can order additional cables off the web site, but not for every species of remote plug socket....prices are fair....
