This thing is awesome!
I'm a Wireless Engineer that does a lot of traveling. I have a Verizon LTE MiFi that I use most of the time, but the service isn't always guaranteed. This is where the TL-WR700N comes in handy.
I never like using the Open Access WiFi at hotels. There is no Encryption, so any one and everyone can see the data you are transmitting and receiving. This can be an issue if you are purchasing things online; all your credit card numbers are transmitted in clear text. This can all be fixed with the use of the TL-WR700N.
I set it up as a router, gave it my own Subnet (172.0.10.x), my own SSID, and WPAv2 AES encryption. All I have to do is connect it to the Ethernet in my hotel room. Now I have a fully encrypted wireless network, 100% signal strength and I don't have to share the wireless bandwidth with other users.
That's just one of the many uses, I have another at home that is setup in Client Mode. It is providing the Ethernet connection to my Sony TV. All information is Wirelessly Bridged to my Internal network at home. It connects at 150mbps (Data Rate M7) and provides more than enough throughput.
The best part is that you get all the features and performance in something so small. Very easy to take along on trips.
I have used an Apple Airport Express before, this wins hands down.

I have this set up as a bridge to my wireless-G network. It works great for in-network stuff (streaming video, network transfers, etc), but it seems to choke on internet based transfers (downloads, Youtube, basically any video related streaming). I'm not sure if it's because I'm using it as a bridge, but I don't think it matters. The range could be better, but any wireless router without external antennas suffers the same fate.Local connections through this have my computers talking to each other at a consistent 3mBps (bytes). You'll want to upgrade the firmware to get rid of the flashing ethernet/WAN light when a computer is attached via cable.Setting it up is slightly annoying because everything requires a reboot of the device. It takes about 2-3 clicks to get it to reboot (following links, clicking alerts, etc). Also, the firmware is really minimal, so don't expect any useful stats about connected devices; if you use Tomato or DD-WRT firmwares, you'll be disappointed. The TP-Link website says that you can upgrade the firmware to DD-WRT, but I'm not sure if you can (this router apparently only has 2MB RAM, opposed to 4). It works well enough with the stock firmware for me.All in all, this is a very convenient router. It's very portable, the design is minimalist, and it works reasonably well. I wouldn't use it as my main router, but as an addition to a network, it works!

This little beauty will let you turn a wired hotel room into a little wireless hotspot of your very own. Got it the day before a trip to Colombia and I couldn't be happier. Setup was a snap and the generous configuration options let you do just about whatever you want. I did some side-by-side comparisons with my home wi-fi network and I'm extremely impressed with the performance. Best purchase I've made in a long time.

Just an update to my review: after using the latest firmware (20121123) for a couple of months, the online streaming problems seem to be resolved. Now this thing works perfectly!
I just wanted to update my rating of the product. Just make sure to get the latest firmware from TP-Link.

I bought this little tiny cute router to replace an old Trendnet router, because my MacBook constantly has troubling connecting to the wifi. The cute router works greatly, and it was very easy to configure. I want to take it with me where I go.

Comments about TP-Link TL-WR700N 150Mbps Wireless-N Mini Pocket Router:
Bought this to extend the range of my router. After 6 calls to the "help" line, which is supposed to go 24/7, it's still not functioning. Each person I spoke with gave different directions. Though I've asked if they don't have someone who actually connected it for Mac use, I'm still waiting. I've sent e-mails and receive a promise to get back in 24 hours, which they sometimes do. Too bad they don't truly help. To add complication, it seems the "help" is in China. Accents and communication are challenging.
