Comments about Toshiba 16GB Thrive 7" Tablet:
Bought this for my first tablet experience. I have an iPod touch but I turned 43 and needed either bigger print or reading glasses. So I decided to go with the bigger print. The apple product is better in my opinion but also much more expensive. I saw the thrive on @ and read the recommendations and got one. First, my kids love it. Second, due to reason 1 I don't see it much. However, the graphics are excellent, the touchpad is easy to use and it appears very well made. I have only had it a few weeks but would buy it again. One feature I do not like is you when you open a new page you can only minimize it and not close it. You need to restart it to close all the windows. It is a fun device and for browsing the web or playing some mindless game for hours on end it works well. I believe the battery lasts about 5 hours.

Comments about Toshiba 16GB Thrive 7" Tablet:
I chose Toshiba because it don´t need adapters for sd card reader, hdmi port, Mini USB etc and this is very useful. The cameras produce quite good images, compatible with the price tag of the tablet. WiFi configuration was easy at least for my home router. I did not tried yet with the enterprise WiFi at my university. The aspects I consider negatives are the large dock connector and the low sound volume.

I received this tablet for father's day. I use it almost every day with a few apps and mostly web browsing. It exceeds my expectations. I recently updated theos to ICS and that went well with no complications.

Comments about Toshiba 16GB Thrive 7" Tablet:
I use this device for Internet browsing, especially playing online chess, emailing and reading the news. I also installed Kindle straight away. I was worried the Thrive might not connect to my home Wifi (Apple)--as my netbook cannot--but it did so immediately. The Wi-fi set-up was amazingly fast and it synchronized flawlessly with my gmail account and dropbox. The account with the android app store was also intuitive and worked well but apps sold by [@] only works if you reside in the U.U. which I don't so that was disappointing. The device exceeded my expectations in terms of app start-uip speed and and the excellent screen resolution. Watching YouTube is a better experience than on the Mac just because it fits so well. The speakers are more than adequate. Battery life is a bit short. I guess if you plan to use the device on the go you'll need a way of recharging it. Also, this is not a fault of the device itself but here in japan where I live, Wi-fi connections are few and far between and I don't intend at this stage to fork out for another Internet account. meaning the Toshiba really has to be assessed on it's use when not connected to the net. The app I really wanted to use, Pocket Anatomy--disappointingly--was available for the iPad but not on the Android market. Another app, GradeKeeper, which could have got me off my laptop is not available either. it seems the iPad dominates in the top end app market at this time. However, the 7"" is the way to go. I have the latest Kindle and the 7" compares in terms of size. All in all I think the device is excellent and just hope the battery life doesn't disappoint on the long-term.

Comments about Toshiba 16GB Thrive 7" Tablet:
Six months later after my husband bought a Toshiba Thrive 32gb 10 inches and see him very happy, I did not resist the temptation to purchase this beautiful and smaller 7 inches tablet for my delicates and soft hands. Both of us are very satisfied with this purchase and android system. Although there are other options for tablets, I chose Toshiba because of Card reader, additional ports, android system, Mini USB etc.
Used mainly for internet browsing, news, Netflix and Youtube, e-mail. Good-Bye TV !!
