The SanDisk Sansa Clip Zip MP3 Player (8GB) has some pretty good things going for it. For one thing, it's super-small and light. Secondly, as the name suggests, it clips onto your clothing or bag. Once you clip the Clip Zip on your person and turn it on you can forget it's even there, and just chill out to your tunes. The Clip Zip also happens to be light on your wallet.
In addition to playing your music, it also plays the FM radio and audiobooks, does voice and radio recordings, and acts as a stopwatch. The 8GB internal memory can be given a boost using optional microSDHC memory cards as well. And menu navigation and album art are displayed on the 1.1" color screen. The simple control buttons on the unit also make it easy to switch between songs and adjust volume, even when you're doing sports or other activities.

i bought this mp3 player because i was unhappy with the sound quality of my ipod nano. and i was utterly suprised at how much more punch that the sansa has compaired to the nano, this is a huge upgrade in sound quality from an ipod in my opinion. and you can clip it anywhere! one thing though is i wouldent recomend hooking it up to a portable amp, it just dosent sound as good and defeats the purpose of having a mini mp3 player. i would say this is a great mp3 player for jogging, working out, or any other activity that falls under that category.

Comments about SanDisk Sansa Clip Zip MP3 Player (8GB, Black):
My experience with the player has been phenomenal. The only issues I've experienced with it are not hardware-related, but related to the sound tracks themselves. Bad files or badly tagged files can cause the firmware to crash. You'll then have to reset the player by either pressing the power button for 30secs or by connecting it to the computer. Many of the negative feedback that the Clip gets in other places is from people who are ignorant of this fact, blaming the player instead. You can use foobar2000 and MP3Val to check file integrity and properly tag your sound files prior to uploading them to your Clip. You may find info on how to do that by Googling it (or by joining a forum such as Anything But iPod, as I did). The Clip Zip comes with earbuds and a shortish USB 2.0 A to Micro-USB B cable... which is why I added a 6' cable from Tripp Lite in my original order. The people at ABI (Anything But iPod) have amassed a great deal of info on the Clip Zip from many users, which I condense and editorialize below--and I agree completely with it. BTW, I am in no way, shape, or form part of ABI. I am just a normal user who has found that community incredibly helpful.(1)Sound quality – sounds as good as any top tier digital audio player (DAP) with higher quality replacement in-ear monitors (IEMs)/headphones. The IEMs that come with the Clip Zip are adequate, but I quickly upgraded them witha pair of SONYs. Better headphones do help to give you a better aural experience. It's the kind of thing you have to hear it to believe it.(2)Size – very small. Great for use in the gym, jogging, etc.(3)Price – one of the lowest cost, quality DAPs on the market.(4) MicroSD expansion slot. Up to 40GB of storage (8GB device + 32 GB MicroSD). (5)Build Quality – can take heavy hits and keep on working, at least in my and other people's experience.(6)Clip – Can clip almost anywhere, shirt, belt, etc.(7) MSC (Mass Storage Class) or MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) mode - Best to choose one rather than leave it on auto-detect as auto-detect may cause issues.(8) EU volume limit - This "limitation" is easily overridden by changing firmware setup to any other country. (9) Album art - Not the main reason to get one, but it's a nice extra.(10)Voice Recorder - which can also record the FM radio(11)FM Radio- It has great radio reception in remote places where other players get no signal(12) Alphabet Browsing on Zip original firmware(13) Standard Mini-USB-Connector(14) Display works in sunlight(15) Perfectly fine useable firmware (original firmware)(16) Firmware updates(17) Very easy to operate with one hand- unlike touchscreen players- which generally seem to need two.Maybe I should also talk about Rockbox. Rockbox is an open source firmware replacement for a growing number of digital audio players. Friendly Warning: using Rockbox may void your digital audio player's warranty, so this is not for everyone. That said, it's an amazing firmware, pushing the Clip's potential to greater heights. For instance, it has no problem using 64GB MicroSD cards to give you a whopping 72GB of storage. The current, original firmware will probably not play that well with 64GB MicroSD cards due to its limitations (that might change in a future firmware update, though, who knows).Rockbox is obviously NOT for casual users, or for those who do NOT want to void the player's warranty. It's mainly for more tech-oriented users those who like to push the technological envelope.

Comments about SanDisk Sansa Clip Zip MP3 Player (8GB, Black):
I use my Clip Zip all the time. When I'm working out, when I run, at work, at home. It is so useful for any time. I love that it is super small and easy to transport. It clips on and never slips (which is super important when I'm running). It is really easy to use. The ability to drag and drop music is SO wonderful. It is incredibly user friendly. The screen size is just right and easy to navigate. I've even been able to easily put together playlists! I LOVE my Sansa Clip Zip and plan on getting one for my hubby now!
