The black KT DL-ORBT-120 Orbit-120 DL; Messenger Bag from Kata is a lightweight alternative to heavier shoulder bags yet offers you the same, if not more, flexibility and functionality. It's rated to hold your DSLR with two lenses, flash as well as your 15.4" (39.1 cm) laptop. There's a separate pocket for your laptop that will keep it from bumping into your other gear. Constructed from a combination of ripstop and standard nylon, the bag presents a two-for-one purchase since it not only can serve as a camera bag but easily converts into a sling-style bag for everyday use. Simply remove the insert and the bag changes into a day bag for clothes, gym gear or anything else you need to carry. In addition to serving as a camera bag, the Orbit can also serve as a very nice camcorder bag. The Aeriform perforated, laminated and reinforced foam interior  provides an added measure of protection to your gear.

As mentioned, the bag serves a dual purpose. The basic design features a unique unzip and flip over the shoulder strap function that allows for an ergonomic rear sling carrying mode when biking. Incorporated into the bag is a front organizer pocket in which you can stash personal items such as pens, cell phone, wallet or travel documents.

For added convenience, the Orbit can work in conjunction with Kata's optional Insertrolley. Using the trolley sleeve on the back of the bag, simply thread the bag over the cart and stack it on top of your luggage. That will leave you hands-free to navigate through airports and parking lots.

Laptop Compartment
This bag features a padded laptop compartment which will allow you to always have your computer at hand and easily accessible

Simply slide the trolley through the integrated sleeve on any of Kata's compatible cases for secure and easy mobility. Even for larger cases - Kata's extendable wheel system helps to better stabilization. You can detach the trolley when you want to store it, or for maintenance
Shoulder Strap
This bag comes with it's own shoulder strap, designed specifically for it by Kata. You can upgrade the included strap to the optional GSS strap (KT VG-604-DH.

Comments about Kata KT DL-ORBT-120 Orbit-120 DL; Messenger Bag (Black):

This bag is the perfect messenger for work and for my camera needs. I'm able to fit my dslr with a sigma 17-50 lens attached, 2 primes, a flash, my 13" macbook, my compact camera, sd cards, lens caps, and filters. Although the picture and description do not show it, you can attach a small tripod to the bottom of the messenger bag as well and there's even more room left to spare. The bag looks cool and doesn't feel clunky/boxy like other dslr bags.Great buy.

Comments about Kata KT DL-ORBT-120 Orbit-120 DL; Messenger Bag (Black):

I have several camera bags, that all have different functions. I have a National Geographic backpack that houses all of my gear. It's great to have all of my gear in one place, but extremely heavy to carry for a day, when traveling overseas on vacation. I always have my laptop. Though the backpack has room for a laptop, when I bought my latest laptop, it is too big for the bag, which meant that I had to lock it up somewhere or carry it separately. Additionally, there really isn't a lot of room in the backpack for anything else, so we usually have another bag with other things we need through the day.

There are also occasions where I simply need my camera and a few other items, i.e., flash, batteries, memory cards, etc. I purchased a Kata LightTri 314 which is good for these occasions. But it is definitely meant for a minimal amount of equipment.

When I saw the advertisement for the messenger bag, I thought - at last a bag that will address all of my traveling needs on vacation. It has room for all of my necessary camera gear and my laptop. I can keep misc paperwork in the briefcase pocket, easily accessible when needed. I can also carry other items that I need, i.e., snacks, water and a jacket. My 80-400 lens is too big to fit in the insert and the insert really doesn't help in carrying the camera - so I have found that it is easier to travel with the camera and gear in the bag, without using the insert.

The bag has adequate padding to protect everything I carry - which is one of the things about the KATA bags that I like - maximum protection with a minimum of weight.
