The Hauppauge 80eM PCTV for Mac HD Mini Stick is a compact, USB-powered TV tuner whose integrated signal booster improves reception sensitivity even if the signal isn't strong. A perfect match for super-slim MacBooks, it is available for digital TV reception and comes with a mini remote control and high-gain telescopic antenna.
The Elgato EyeTV Lite software lets you TimeShift, record and program all your favorite shows. You can record them either manually or from the built-in TV Guide. The Elgato EyeTV Lite software enables full playback controls including pause, rewind, fast forward, skip and slow-motion. The heat generated by the USB device was unacceptable and I deemed it a hazard. After directing an IR (infra red) heat gun at the USB device, it clocked in at about 140 degrees. This temperature value was gauged WITHOUT using the Pinnacle software feature to pull in greater frequency ranges.
As for the EyeTV software, I found it poor.

I got this because I am over in Canada for a year and currently flatting. I wanted to be able to escape to my room and watch tv. This works brilliantly. Extreemly easy to set up and once set up all you have to do is plug in the USB and it starts up. Brilliant!!
