Comments about Kingston Data Traveler HyperX 3.0 USB Drive (256GB):

I spent MY money to purchase this product.

The cap is too easy to lose. I drilled a small hole and threaded one end of a lanyard into it, the other lanyard end is attached to the main body. Why is this not done at the factory????

        The large capacity is great!

Performance (copying to) is overrated on ALL USB 3 flash drives, including this HyperX. When copying folders of files, performance is on the average about 4-5 MB per second. Where is this 30-60MB per second I would be happy with? Copying performance starts at around 10 MB/sec and trails off to zero, then it picks up, drops again, picks up again, etc... This performance is noted on two different computers: Microsoft Surface Pro 2 Windows 8.1 Pro with latest updates, running with 8 GB Ram, 512 GB SSD & native USB 3 port, the other is my server: Tyan S8232 series running Windows Server 2012R2 with latest updates and drivers, 96 GB Ram, 10 GB RAM disk, Raid 1 180 GB SSD array, Raid 1 4TB 7200 RPM array, StarTech PEXUSB3S400 4-port USB 3 PCIe 2.0 in the proper slot and latest drivers in both systems. Copying the same folder on my Gb network I get around 30 MB/sec from/to these two computers. This is the same dismal performance with other brands of USB 3 flash drives. So, based on my experiences, the USB 3 standard may be a 5 Gb/sec rating, the various advertised USB 3 read/write times may list upto 30-60 MB/sec in real-world usage, this is NOT what I find in my real-world usage. Again, the capacity is why I use this USB 3 drive. It does take too much time, but I have no other choice...regardless of brand...at this time. All flash drives I use are formatted with NTFS. I've have tried the various flavors of FAT, no security: not to be used.

Comments about Kingston Data Traveler HyperX 3.0 USB Drive (256GB):

I liked this flash drive so much, I bought two! High capacity, fast R/W access and quality components meant this was exactly what I needed. While it's a tiny bit on the larger (thicker) size for a USB drive I hardly notice it anymore and the cap and housing construction is exceptionally good. Five Stars!!

Comments about Kingston Data Traveler HyperX 3.0 USB Drive (256GB):

I was planning to buy a 256GB drive for some time but they were all in $ range, the I found this Kingston for $ at B&H and just jumped on it. It is a great drive with lots of stuff to put on. I have about 180GB that I carry with me, so it is perfect for me. Thank you Kingston and Thank you B&H.

Comments about Kingston Data Traveler HyperX 3.0 USB Drive (256GB):

This is an amazing amount of storage in one stick. It works like a charm and is a great solution if you absoultely need to pack a lot of data in a small space. It is thick, so that your can't insert two of them in USB ports one atop the other, but the connector is built in to the bottom of the stick, so that if you insert the Data Traveller in the top USB slot you CAN get another, thinner device in the slot underneath it. I use one Data Traveller 265gb drive in the top slot and two Xporter Magnum 128gb drives in the two lower slots of a Dr. Bott T3 hub to get half a terabyte of storage in the palm of my hand. Awsome.
