Questions? Ask our experts:

The Equinox Recon Video Housing is a cylindrical, acrylic underwater camera housing. Usable on land or underwater, the housing is depth rated to 30' (9.1 m). A versatile housing, the Recon is not camera-specific and will accommodate virtually any standard consumer camcorder. The advantage of this, of course, is that if you switch camcorders, you need not get a new housing; just adjust the record start / stop lever and you're ready to go! An optional wide angle lens can be attached inside the housing (not included). You can also insert an optional color correction filter (not included) for use below a depth of 5.0' (1.5 m). A handle strap and tripod mount are included with the housing.

Comments about Equinox Recon Video Housing:

You get what you pay for... at least I had sense enough to test it in the water before I put the camera in. It leaks. The seal is a very flimsy rubber strip, which I would hardly call a gasket. And as soon as I put the pistol grip in the "tripod mount" it snapped off because it was attached with what looked like a hot glue gun. How this company can offer this item to house relatively expensive cameras underwater is surprising. I will be returning it.
