The Induro BHL1 Ball Head features separate controls for ball locking, pan-base locking, and tension to provide precise & reliable control over camera positioning. With its all-weather grip, the oversized knob enables extremely strong ball locking, which makes possible the head's remarkable load capacity of 44 lb. To accommodate different load sizes, an independent tension dial is integrated into the ball-locking knob.
The separate locks for tilt and pan mean that you can reliably perform tasks such as panoramic photography, which require the camera's orientation to remain rock-steady while the position of the panning base changes. Around the base are degree markers that aid in the accurate capture of panoramas that will be stitched together later. The head pans a full 360° and tilts 90° to -45° to accommodate portrait orientation.
The BHL1 head features an Arca-Swiss-style clamping quick-release element, with a double lock to protect your gear from damage. A bubble level on the clamping element helps ensure that your framing hews to the horizon. A PU-60 dovetail plate with a 1/4"-20 screw is included, and the head is compatible with most Arca-style camera plates from other manufacturers.

I wanted a sturdy , small, lightweight, smoothly operating, yet reasonably priced ball head to keep permanently on my Manfrotto CF tripod for away from studio use. I had been switching my Arca ball head back and forth or using several older clunky ones. The bubble level on the head is a bonus. It would get 5 stars if the panhead knob were close to the lockdown knob instead of opposite- on the other side of the ball- making it awkward to find and differentiate from the camera clamp lock. I haven't used it long enough to stop thinking of the Arca knob arrangement. It's a pleasure to use.

Very disappointed in finish of this ballhead. The Clamp is spray painted and not anodised, it might not be durable, and looks cheap. The rubber foam that formes seal between ballhead cut-out is unevenly positioned and blobs of glue showing – it looks ugly. I am trying to sell this item locally at cost as I live outside of the US and sending it back for refund would be costly. The body of the ballhead and oversized knobs looks good. If I cannot sell it I will replaced the ugly clamp with Really Right Stuff one and live with it. Spend more and buy RRS one!

Comments about Induro BHL1 Ball Head:
I was in NYC over Christmas and in the market for a ballhead and new tripod, I headed to B&H. I spent nearly an hour with a sales rep who showed me many different options and explained all their features. I decided the Induro was my best choice: solid, easy to adjust and a good value.
Not sure whether to go with the BHL1 or BHL2, so headed home to do more research on the company. It turned out the BHL1 is perfect for my needs. It's small and light enough to function well on my monopod with my D7000 and shorter lens, and it's dead solid on my (new Induro AT214) tripod with a 400mm f5.6 lens attached.

Comments about Induro BHL1 Ball Head:
This is an excellent product. I highly recommend. The build quality, design and strength is exceptional.
I personally returned this one and got the Induro BHL2 instead. I think the BHL1 is probably strong enough, but if felt a bit smallish. The BHL2 feels even more substantial and since I use a pro-body with ringflash attached sometimes, I thought it would be safer to get the larger head. If you can afford it I recommend the BHL2. But this BHL1 is probably good enough.

Comments about Induro BHL1 Ball Head:
I truly love everything about this ball head except one thing. The locking knob would be better (in my opinion) if it were on the left hand side of the head instead of the right. When positioning my camera, my right hand is obviously holding the camera grip, so it makes it awkward to try to tighten the ball head locking knob while holding onto the camera. Not a huge deal though. Still a very very well made head.
Comments about Induro BHL1 Ball Head:
Pros: good stability; large range of motion; user friendly. Cons: heavier than I expected.

Use for a mid-weight SLR configuration.. up to 8-9 pounds and works great with the tripod legs I got.Friction lock mechanism works great at locking how loose the ball head gets so you can smoothly obtain any angle desired.
