The black Camera Vest for All Camera Types from Cotton Carrier is a unique chest harness system that supports 1 or 2 cameras eliminating the neck strain usually associated with shooting long jobs such as weddings, sports, public relations and photojournalism. The system is designed for the photographer who carries a DSLR with battery grip. The system comes complete with a camera tether that securely supports your camera and two 10° angled hubs. The hub fits neatly into the 1/4 -20 tripod slot on your camera and then slips into the Lexan receptacle in the front of your vest. For additional stability, the built-in lens Stabilization Strap adds another measure of balance and support by holding the lens firmly against your body, preventing "swing".
First, use the buckles and touch fasteners on the vest to secure it around your body. Both the height and chest harness are fully adjustable. The camera tether then attaches to the vest by the use of a D-Ring. The unit's Split Ring attaches to the camera's strap lug and then to the other end of the tether. The entire unit is inter-connected and provides you with a comfortable and stable way to comfortably walk around while having your camera at the ready to shoot. You can also attach the harness as a standalone system when you attach it to, for example, your backpack strap. Just wrap the touch fastener around the strap and you're set to go. The system is backed by Cotton Carrier's limited lifetime warranty against defects.
The Side Holster from Cotton Carrier allows you to carry a second camera holster-style, leaving you hands-free for other activities like using your phone or texting until you are ready to shoot. The holster attaches to any belt, bag strap or the original Cotton Carrier Camera Vest. With the Cotton Carrier locking system, your camera is always secured and at the ready.
The Side Holster is an affordable upgrade to a traditional neck strap since its design helps eliminate all neck and shoulder pain while also preventing your camera from swinging about freely. It is designed for cameras that are not pro series or have a battery grip attached. You simply Insert your camera into the Side Holster at a 45 degree angle so that when it's in place and hanging, it is locked in securely. The included Safety Tether Cord prevents your camera from accidentally falling when it's removed from the Side Holster.

I have used this shooting ACC football games this season. Such an incredible piece of equipment. I am so glad to be rid of those stupid neck straps while using 2 cameras at a time. They are easy to use and easy to snap out quickly for very quick use. I have even used them hiking and gone are the days of my camera clunking around on my fanny pack and getting hot and wet at my back and flopping around me. I had refused to buy any other product or belt system because they were not what I was looking for. One day I had the opportunity to stop by B&H in NYC and there it was, exactly what I was looking for. This is one of my favorite pieces of equipment I have bought so far. The quick release adapter for tripods works perfectly. The pieces that screw on to your camera to work with the quick releases are easily removed when you are not using the system. The system is well built and should hold up for many years of hard use. Very pleased with my purchase.

Not a good choice. The vest fits poorly even after much adjustment. creates more of a problem while using than the benefit it provides. I thought this would be a great alternative to sore shoulders but the aggravation it causes is more of a pain than the caamera strap over my shoulder. Don't buy this item....save the money for aspirin!

Comments about Cotton Carrier Camera Vest for All Camera Types with Side Holster (Black):
I've been looking for a way to handle shooting with multiple cameras for my local church. The Cotton Carrier appears to be the answer. Sedtting the vest up took many attempts but is the necessary evli with the product, many adjustable straps. However once correctly fitted, you do not have any pressure points. Carried two 5D mkII's with 70-200 2.8 IS and 24-70 2.8 with no problem.

Comments about Cotton Carrier Camera Vest for All Camera Types with Side Holster (Black):
This carrier is extremely useful for hikers or carrying larger SLRs all day long. It really gives my neck a big relief and frees my hands when they are needed for other things. I thought the "full version" with the side carrier I ordered also include the "simple carrier". It turns out that that should strip thing needs to be ordered as a separate product. This made me think this vest is a little over-charged.

Comments about Cotton Carrier Camera Vest for All Camera Types with Side Holster (Black):
I purchased this camera vest for use in sports photography and have found it to be something I will use for many years to come. The build of this vest is solid and establishing it's proper fit was done fairly quick. It is a matter of adjusting waist straps to fit and adjusting the back straps using their velcro connections to the vest. The velcro makes a VERY VERY solid connection . So much so that it will take a bit of doing to adjust without it always attaching where you don't want it to . A minor issue at worst. I feel the MAJOR flaw is in the directions on connecting the quick mount for tripods as the ONLY directions are not directions at all but tiny pictures on the packaging the thing comes in. These pictures are SO small and they lack any real step by step so you know exactly what attaches to what. This could have been done Much better and for the BIG BUCKS you WILL spend (I got the most expensive rigging with side holster)I should think making sure the user is doing everything corrrectly would be of more a priority. The other flaw may be in my setting up of the vest. IF you have a long lens on the front with attached lens hood, when you kneel down,it CAN hit the ground in front of you if you have the vest too low on your chest. I would suspect it is more my fault than the vest's but still a concern to think about when making the initial adjustments. I would advise when using the vest DO TAKE TIME to use the safety straps that hold the camera in cases of it falling from your hands or the vest. ALL in all I would say that for ME the ease in carrying two cameras with lenses on hikes or around gyms and stadiums is worth the cost and worth overlooking what short comings this product has. It DOES look ODD to the nonphotog but to the person using it, LOOKS don't matter. This thing works!

I bought this to use when out with my kids and for the cost, I liked that I got the hip holster. I have used both as well as the Cotton Carrier that attaches to a backpack. All are relatively easy to connect seat the camera and I have never had one fall out. I am a relatively big person, so I am not sure how it will work over a large coat - but I will find out at Cyclocross Worlds in a little over a week! The hip holster works well when I am in a hurry and don't feel like carrying any extra baggage but want some place to hold the camera. I have had a couple of back surgeries, so reducing neck strain (and thus the transfer of strain down my spine) is paramount - and these items work as advertised. I do wish the vest would allow the holster to be set a little lower on a man - it tends to be a littl high and I have bumped the camera with my elbow a couple of times.

Comments about Cotton Carrier Camera Vest for All Camera Types with Side Holster (Black):
The Good. I'm a 70+ year old day trekker, 5 to 15 miles each, mostly in the mountains of Virginia. I carry a Canon Mark II (1.7 lbs.) with a Canon EF 28-300 L lens (3.7 lbs) and a few light weight accessories. Previously, I used a camera case with a shoulder strap and dedicated belt. At the end of each day's hike I experienced severe neck, shoulder, and back pain. I quit carrying the 5D and all-in-one 28-300 lens in favor of my Nikon P510 point and shoot camera. Not satisfied with the quality of my P510 photos (the 5D and P510 are not comparable cameras) I decided to try the Cotton Carrier with my 5D and 28-300 lens. Based on two all day hikes, the pain problem is solved -- thank you Cotton Carrier.
The Bad. Cotton Carrier marketing information stresses universality of the system. When the Cotton Carrier Camera Hub is in place on my Nikon P510 the battery and card compartment will not open -- very inconvenient. I plan to use my old Canon Rebel with a macro lens as my second camera, so no big deal for me personally.
The Ugly. I have two tripods and neither will work with the Cotton Carrier Universal Adapter Plate. Both tripods work fine on all 4 of my cameras but do not fit the threads of the Universal Adapter Plate.
The Unforgivable. Where is Cotton Carriers quality control. The Allen Key (or wrench) that is included with the Universal Adapter Plate is too big for ANY of the bolts used to attach the Adapter and Camera Hubs.
Summary. I rate this device a 4 for my purposes (comfort in carrying a heavy camera and lens all day). Beware if you want it for a wider range of devices and convenient tripod use.

Purchased this for an upcoming 5 day hiking/camping trip in Big Bend National Park. The intial out of the box adjustment took about 10mins & then about 5mins more when I got out to the field, after that it has been rock solid & comfortable. Wore this rig everyday for several hours, it was very comfortable & distributed the weight of 2 cameras (5dII w/17-40 & 7d w/24-70) very well. I was quite pleased with how much this set-up freed up my hands for when I needed to brace myself while climbing down or up steep rocky inclines.

I like my Cotton Carrier vest. Generally, I don't leave home without it, as it has become part of my kit. It takes a lot of pressure off my neck and back. I even carry a gripped DSLR attached to a 70-200 2.8 II with little discomfort. I love nature walks up to 5 miles plus and this vest eases my pain so to speak. I can't say enough about my Cotton Carrier! Next, I will buy the rig for a super-telephoto lens.
I wear my vest snug, but not overly tight. The tighter the vest, the better the fit. I like the fact that I can carry two cameras on my vest, as it is great for on location events such as weddings and birthday parties.
I sweat a lot and my vest withstands extreme heat very well, but it doesn't stink afterwards! For what it's worth. I can hand wash i if need be.

Definitely don't use for formal occasions like weddings. You will look ridiculous.
It holds cameras but it doesn't really fit so well. I'm 6'1" 175 lbs and even after tightening every strap possible I couldn't get a snug fit.
I'm personally more comfortable using a belt holster or side bag with top loading compartment, and backpacks for active bikes/hikes.

Both of my Canon's with lenses have become very heavy. I was looking to eleviate the neck and should strain of carrying this equipment +. I purchased the Camer vest with the side Holster. I am very surprised and pleased that this vest has been what I have been looking for. The cameras can be carried with ease. I am now looking into purchasing the extra attachment to hold the camera lense with the carrier. I am excited.

As a wedding and event photographer for over twenty years full time, I've taken a lot of wear and tear. I recently had major cervical surgery and was wondering how I would be able to continue my career. What a life saver this is.. Still trying to make minor adjustments, but it has worked wonderfully. I highly recommend this vest. Be smart, get ahead of the game and save your neck. Get one!!!
Still trying to figure use for second holster as it would not fit on my lowepro deluxe belt and I didn't like the weight tugging on the vest from second d3 body.

I am a wedding photographer and was using the black rapid 2 camera harness. That was until I found the cotton carrier. It takes a bit of time to set up but once you get it right it is an excellent tool for the 2 camera shooter. Your free to move as you please without the worry of one of your cameras smashing into something. It is a great design and comfortable to wear.

As a camera carry system is terrific. I can haul my heavy Nikon all day with no back strain. The attachment system is quick and easy to use. There were two flaws I have been able to fix with stuff from other vendors. The lens bag is bulky and not fully integrated as an option. A trip to the camera store fixed that and I personally wanted broader more padded shoulder straps. A trip to a good camping store fixed that. Both I consider minor when compared to how well it works.
