This monitor is a great value for money and comes with a ton of accessories. It is very efficient and easy to use. The color accuracy however is a little off but you can manually go in and get it pretty close. It is great to use to frame your shots or for your focus assist to pull focus. It can also be a great monitor for clients to look at instead of them crowding your onboard LCD.

This little monitor looks pretty good out of the box, but unfortunately it did not perform so well when I put it to work.I used it with my Canon 7D, and it seemed like the small HD signal just put this monitor to sleep. The monitor functioned well for about 5 to 7 minutes, and then suddenly it powered off.I am seriously considering sending it back. I used it with the eNel-3 batteries because I have several of them already which frees up my Canon batteries when I shoot with the 7d. I thought perhaps the cheap battery supplied with the unit died due to its initial use at first, but then I substituted one of my solid Nikons, and had the same result. I shot for a few minute and suddenly by-by picture. What gives? The other thing I question is the lightweight plastic. I know it's only $[$]bucks, but this toy is going to explode the first time some assistant drops it. The screen is incredibly fragile, and I can't imagine what kind of material it is composed of because it is so easily marred with angel hair like scratches right out of the box. That's right. I sent the first one back because it appeared that someone had wiped off the screen causing multiple fine scratches all over it in every direction. The new one came right out of the sealed box with similar scratches although not as numerous. Finally, No manual? What the heck? I mean I don't need even 7 pages, but give me a break, not even an explanation of terms and abbreviations.Marshall was recommended by an engineer friend. He must have been talking about higher end monitors.Good grief Charlie Brown

Comments about Marshall Electronics M-CT7 7" Camera Top Monitor with Nikon EN-EL3e Plate/Battery/Charger:

I use this monitor with my Panasonic HM40 CamCorder which helps a lot while videoing. It's much easier to see than the attached 3" on the CamCorder. The battery attached is okay for short usage, just wish when you turn it off it turns off but instead goes into a sleep mode with the indicator light on that uses the battery so at events like a wedding, I plug in the AC/DC cord that comes with the unit which is nice. Again, it's your call mobile or stationary as to the power usage.

Decent video quality and a good collection of accessories in the box. The only other thing I would've liked is an A/C powered battery charger. A 12v charger is included.

Comments about Marshall Electronics M-CT7 7" Camera Top Monitor with Nikon EN-EL3e Plate/Battery/Charger:

I have used this monitor with gopro's, Canon DSLR's and Nikon DSLR's and even with a Panny camera that I just didn't want to deal with the small monitor. It is OK for brightness but really needs the hood to be used effectively outside or in very high ambient light levels.

The image is very sharp, easy to spot focus issues even with ultra-wide lenses, and is simply a steal for the money, especially when you can use such inexpensive batteries to power it.

It works well with reasonable color/contrast especially for the price.

It works just as I expected and included a nice set of accessories like a dual AC and 12 volt charge for the included battery and HDMI cables etc.

The only thing this monitor leaves me wanting for is focus assist but that's not too critical a thing because the monitor has a zoom function for checking focus.
