I ended up returning this product because I didn't like it. But it's not for a lack or quality or usefulness. It's just a personal preference on my part. I think this product happens to be one of those things that you have to try on to be able to tell if you'll like it or not; kind of like pants or shoes. The quality is definitely top rate though. The leather was obviously of high quality and was very soft. I was looking for a way to maintain some safety when carrying around my camera without having to use the neck strap. I never use my neck strap as a neck strap; I just give one or two wraps around my shooting hand to offer a safety net in case I drop it. But it tends to get in the way and I find myself moving out of the way of my LCD all the time. So I wanted an alternative. But when I was wearing this, I tended to have to pull it back as far as I could get it on my hand so it didn't feel like it was restricting the range of motion of my fingers. Maybe I'm being too picky, but that's my experience.

I have medium sized hands and a comfortable wrist strap allows the weight to be distributed away from my fingers when I grab my camera for long periods. It is a very nice thing to have. I moved to the Camdapter because my earlier $ strap wasn't long enough to use with the Kirk L plate. While it is very comfortable and nicely made, the issue I have with the Camdapter mostly involves the nylon webbing. The part above and below the strap are so flaccid that they always fall over when not in use. I usually like to grab my camera one-handed when raising from my BR sling, and the strap is always drooped over the camera in such a way I have to fidget to get my fingers through it. Won't seem like a big deal, but do it hundreds of times a day and you will know. Part of this is because the strap cannot be tightened enough because unlike some other straps there is no notch at the top to allow free motion of your index finger. So you need to leave it slightly loose. I used scotch tape around the webbing to make it stiff. Also, the part of webbing you have to cut off (making future changes impossible) or allow to hang loose is annoying.

            Good * Very well made

Bad * If you have large hands it doesn't really support the hand, rather it is a safety strap that prevents your camera from falling. My wife (small hands) was ables to use it as a more dynamic and supportive strap that takes stress off the hand.

Bad * NIKON USERS! YOU NEED THE ADAPTER PLATE!!! I didn't know this until after I recieved the strap. The adapter is well made but expensive for what it is.

Comments about Pro Strap (Medium Brown):

Great strap to replace the double sided neck straps. I use my GH3 for a lot of video work and the dangle of the neck strap had to go, however the Pro Strap is isolated to one side allowing support and no dangle... Most HDSLRs NEED the battery pack for the hight to be tall enough to fit proper, but most everyone should have that.

                Great hand strap!

                By Jake

                from Portland, OR

Comments about Pro Strap (Medium Brown):

Just purchased and quickly came to love this hand strap! I am a professional wedding photographer and used it on my camera yesterday for the first time. 10 hour wedding day, lots of lens changes, and the strap performed as I had hoped it would. As a wedding pro, I have been wanting to slim down how much equipment hangs off of my body and getting the neck strap off my camera was a priority for me. Shooting with just the hand strap yesterday was great! I felt more mobile than ever and didn't have to fuss around with a dangling neck strap. The strap itself is very durable. Seems to be high quality leather and soft enough on first-use to not irritate my hand. Performance-wise, I think what I am happiest with is the locking buckle design...once I sized it to my hand, the buckle locked the strap in place and did not budge at all after a long day of shooting and meaneuvering. Very pleased and would recommend.

Very pleased with this strap. It feels secure and a natural way to hold the camera. I am using it on my Nikon D800. The top is attached to the camera strap lug and the bottom is treaded through a loop on the Kirk D800 QR plate. Takes a few minutes to figure out how to install it - the pictures aren't very clear. But once done, it is very nice and comfortable.

Be aware that the adaptor to connect the strap to the bottom of your camera is NOT included (sold seperately). Budget this into the equation as it more than doubles the cost. I overlooked this issue. I have instead used the adaptor from my Sunpac handstrap ($[$]). The only issue with using the Sunpac is having to loosen the retaining knob and swivel it out of the way to access the battery door on my Nikon D7100. The Pro Strap: buttery soft, quality leather. Increased surface area in contact with the back of the hand (versus my Sunpac) makes for excellent weight distribution. Very comfy, relaxed way to retain the camera without those horrible neck straps. D7100 70-200 f4 with attached Pro Strap works perfectly with my Lowepro Top Loader 75 holster bag. The other parents move out of my way when my camera rig shows up to photograph my girls at dance performances.

Very high quality product. A little difficult to install on my Nikon D90, but once it's on it gives a great sense of security when holding the camera. I had a Kirk L-bracket already on the camera (for attachment to a QR), and it had a slot for use with the strap, which worked out great. Overall, a little pricey, but it appears to be very well made and the security of having the camera secure if your fingers slip, make it worth the $$.

The Pro Strap by Camdapter is one of the best investment I have made in my photographic equipment. Easy to install and much more practical than a neck strap. The Pro Stap allows you to hold your camera in your hand with total control. No more camera swinging around uncontrollably around your neck expecially in crowded or confined spaces. It is a real joy to use. Should have purchased it a long time ago.

Comments about Pro Strap (Medium Brown):

I wanted to rid myself completely of a neckstrap. So, I recently invested in a Carry Speed Sling and Spider Pro carry system. But, I still hold my camera (Canon 60D) in hand for lengths of time. This strap was a stylish and comfortable solution. Since it attached to the grip section only, it allows me to still use the Carry Speed or Spider systems since they attach the the 1/4 inch thread at the bottom of the camera. I have my camera outfitted with a battery grip, as well, and that poses no problem at all when it comes to the strap's fit. Installation was not difficult, but it does require that you follow the directions carefully! DO NOT PULL OUT OR THROW AWAY THAT STRAW. At first you may think it is for packing and shipping but it actually is a "tool" used for the strap's installation.

Great for camera's with a battery grip. I'm not a fan of neck staps and this fits the bill for me. The leather is soft and has that broke in feel and look. The only issue I notice is that it is not the same color as in the picture at all. Mine is alot lighter.

                              Comments about Pro Strap (Chestnut):

The materials and workmanship are very good but I would like it better if it was possible to angle it back at the top of the leather pad instead of running completely vertical. It forces the top of my hand a bit too far forward which makes it an awkward stretch to reach the Mode button on the top of the camera. It feels OK while I am touching the shutter release button though.

It's easy to install and feels good on the hand. The width of the leather helps to spread out the nylon strap on your hand. But unfortunately, the plastic buckle does not fully retain the nylon webbing. It doesn't slip out quickly, if I check it ever shoot or so and re-tighten it I'm fine, but it does slip out. I'd hate to drop my camera over this.
