Replacing a Canon GL2, so the small size of this camcorder is wonderful. Can carry my three cameras, lenses and this camcorder in one camera bag. Camera book could have more detailed explanations on saving and downloading movies.

Comments about Sony HDR-PJ260V High Definition Handycam Camcorder with Projector (Black):
This is a very good camcorder. Easy to carry and so convenient to play and watch what I shot almost anytime and anywhere I was without plugging into a TV. The only disadvantage is that it has no front light. Overall, it is a very good product.

Comments about Sony HDR-PJ260V High Definition Handycam Camcorder with Projector (Black):
I bought this camcorder on a Wednesday night and recorded a 45 minute training session on Thursday morning. Didn't read instructions, just set it up at one end of the conference room and pushed record. Dropped it on our network and the video and audio quality was awesome. Another group conducted a training session that afternoon using a large TV screen it looked so clear you would think it was professionally filmed. Biggest surprise was the projector. Wasn't looking for that feature but it is really good, not just a gimmick. Another surprise is the smile feature. I didn't even know it was taking those pictures but they were great. This camcorder is way beyond what you think you are getting. I have already referred another friend who bought one.

Comments about Sony HDR-PJ260V High Definition Handycam Camcorder with Projector (Black):
I purchased this Sony camcorder to replace a not very old Canon camcorder that has sluggish auto focus (no manual focus).
The Sony images are very sharp with excellent color rendition.
The camcorder handles well and is a pleasure to operate. It is not necessary to master the numerous operating options to get excellent videos and still images.
Like my first Sony camera, this camcorder captures excellent closeups via the telephoto lens.
Now that never made sense to me, but it sure does.
I take pictures of insects, spiders, tiny flowers, birds, deer, bears, wildlife in general.
The camcorder has the high quality build you expect from Sony.
Photography has been a satisfying hobby of mine for more than 50 years. Have lost count of all the cameras that I have owned.
Whether you are a novice or a photog, your camera is a tool.
If you want a satisfying experience, buy a good tool and develop and/ or apply your talent.

Comments about Sony HDR-PJ260V High Definition Handycam Camcorder with Projector (Black):
1- The camera is easy to use. I was able to get going with it without reading the instructions. I am of the opinion that a well designed product should be intuitive, and not need instructions. This camera receives high marks in this area. I got all features working without the manual. 2- The quality of the video was extremely good. The camera focuses well, and the images are brilliant and have excellent contrast. 3- The camera came with all the needed cables, and the remote. 4- I like the built in USB cord.. it is not long at all, but it is nice to have a cord ready to plug in to re-charge, or synch with etc... if you don't have your case with all your stuff with you. 5- Face detection & - SMILE detection - check this out..not only does he camera have face detection.. but when set up, when taking a video, if it detects a smile, it takes a picture! That's pretty cool.. you may get that "one in a lifetime" shot while shooting a video! 6- Built in GPS receiver - To be honest this is kinda funky and I am just learning it., But when on (it is on by default) when you take videos (outdoors naturally) it tracks WHERE you took them.. so later on you say for example: "Remember when we were in Time Square?" Instead of looking for a file number & date on the camera, (which you can) you simply touch the "map view", find Times Square and there you are.. it will show what you shot there! It is pretty neat Finally, the jaw dropping surprise. I had expected the projector to be little more than a novelty and perhaps even a nuisance. I was shocked to see that the built in projector is actually usable. In a normal room light, you can use the projector for 8X10 projection. In a darkened room, you can project a Big and Bright movie. In addition, the playback speakers provided suitable sound, especially considering their small size. You will not be disappointed with this camera, and it is worth every cent of the price.
