The black Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack from Tenba is a serious pack for serious shooters. Whether you are still photographer or videographer, you'll find this pack has something for any discipline. It holds a ton of gear including 1-2 DSLRs, 6-8 lenses including a 400mm f/2.8 or 500mm f/4 plus a host of accessories, flash and media cards that can be stored in its separate 4-pocket wallet.

This is a weatherproof ballistic nylon pack made for DSLR, HD video or medium format photography. It also holds your 17" (43.2 cm) laptop in its own padded sleeve that is top loading for rapid retrieval at airports. If you don't use the sleeve for your laptop, the sleeve can be used for support gear like hard drives or documents. The pack is carried in any of several ways. First, it has dual ball bearing wheels that are complimented by a 4-section retractable handle - great for parking lots, stairs and airports. For added convenience, there are reinforced top and side carry handles that will support the bag even when you've got a full load packed inside. The handles are excellent when you just need to grab the bag from your car or closet. However, it doesn't stop there since the Roadie II has a rear hidden backpack harness that can be readily deployed and leave you hands-free while walking through airports or city streets.

Inside, it's got an EVA (ethyl vinyl acetate) molded interior and padded movable dividers that permit you to sculpt the "guts" of the bag to accommodate your gear. The soft tricot lining is gear-friendly and won't damage the surface of your gear. Your medium to long range lenses or HD video rig can be packed with hoods on the lenses and tripod collar in place. Store your lenses standing up in shooting position and be ready to work when you unpack to get started shooting.

With all this gear, of course you'll need a tripod and the Roadie II features a quick-connect carry system that will attach just about any size tripod or light stand to the pack. Your quick-release tripod collar can be stashed within the rear pocket of the pack when not required. There is also a fair amount of internal storage space for accessories in laminated mesh pockets that are perfect for your cables, filters, repair kits and other small items.

Accessing the bag is easy using the heavy-duty YKK zippers. On the outside, there is front pocket to hold quick-access items such as tickets, passports and keys. For the shooter who needs a more than durable pack to get from A-B in comfort, style and safety, the Roadie II supplies the tools to get the job done. Backed by Tenba's 5-year warranty, this pack, that holds a ton of gear at only 10.5 lb (4.8 kg) appears to be a complete package that meets the requirements of even the most demanding photographer.

Heavy-duty, four-section handle extends to full, comfortable walking height, easing the strain on your back and shoulders when wheeling through long airport stretches
Weatherproof ballistic nylon exterior; YKK zippers and heavy-duty tricot interior
Padded, custom-sewn, reinforced handles enable comfortable carrying even when the case is fully loaded
Heavy-duty, ball bearing wheel assemblies feature smooth-rolling, user-replaceable wheels
Padded computer sleeve fits most laptops up to 17" (43.2 cm), and top access speeds you through airport security. If the sleeve is not being used for a laptop, small pockets inside provide space for hard drives, pens and other accessories in addition to documents
Quick-connect tripod carrying system will hold virtually any size tripod or light stand tight to the case for travel. Quick-release tripod collar stows away in the rear pocket when not in use
Exterior front pocket holds media wallet, airline tickets, passport and other items you need get at quickly
EVA (ethyl vinyl acetate) molded interior maximizes depth and ensures that large DSLRs and mid-range zoom lenses can be stored standing up; super telephoto lenses will fit with their hood and tripod collar in place; production-quality HD video cameras will fit as well
Photo section features fully adjustable/removable, padded dividers, and can be configured to accommodate a long lens up to 400mm f/2.8 or 500mm 4.0
Large, laminated mesh interior storage pockets for cables, filters, tools and other accessories
The rear of the bag has a fast-deploying, padded backpack harness which allows the Roadie to be carried comfortably when the terrain isn't so "wheel-friendly," such as over sand or up stairs
Included 4-pocket media wallet fits either CF or SD cards

      Sturdy, never flirty

Comments about Tenba Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack (Black):

Tons of storage here. The laminated mesh inside pockets are roomy enough for gadgets and cards. I can fit three bodies, a 70-200 lens, and a 24-70 lens without a problem. Wish it came with a dedicated D ring for a security cable. The simple design never attracts attention which is huge when you're tucking it out of the way a reception hall. It was between this and a Think Tank Airport International bag. This one own out for both price and bag design.

Comments about Tenba Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack (Black):

I wanted a camera equipment luggage that allowed me to carry the items I needed for the shoot. Moreover, one that was able to support the equipment
and would come under the airplane weight and dimensions restrictions. It also offers the ability to be pulled or carried as a backpack.

Comments about Tenba Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack (Black):

I've never been more pleased with a bag and I've owned many. The materials are unbeatable. From the zippers to the bullet-proof nylon, you can just feel the difference. Visit a camera store and compare this bag with others…it's undeniable.

The side and top handles are very comfortable to use and the extra padding is definitely appreciated when the bag is fully loaded. I really like how the bag's lid's hinge is along the side as opposed to the bottom. Most all manufacturers put their bag's lid's hinge along the bottom and that makes for a large and unwieldy flap that is annoying to deal with in the field.

The bag rolls smoothly and is actually pretty comfortable as a backpack. My one and only complaint would be that the straps have to really be crammed into the zipper compartment (it could stand to be a bit bigger) and attaching the straps to their respective d-rings takes a bit of time.

I love that this bag isn't flashy but still looks sleek. The bag is definitely not as large as others but I was able to fit a LOT of gear inside including a Canon C100 with control grip attached, Zacuto Recoil Rig, 3 Canon Lenses, GH3 w/ Lenses as well as a Z-Finder Pro, batteries, filters, etc.

This is a great bag that I don't anticipate needing to replace for a very long time.

Comments about Tenba Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack (Black):

Needed a carry-on for my 500 f/4, 24-70, two camera bodies, TCs, etc, and the Temba Roadie II did fine. Strong construction assures max protection. Smaller planes required leaving plane-side, with no issues. Fits neatly on larger Jets. Not designed for pack packing long distances, but the built in straps allowed for easy negotiating of steps, escalators, etc. Highly recommended.

Comments about Tenba Roadie II: Universal Hybrid Roller/Backpack (Black):

                - Very well made
                - Good for a basic camera system with 2 bodies, several lenses, flash and small accessories
                - If you have a lot of gear to carry, get the larger version
                - The only thing I don't like about it is the bottom of the main compartment is not flat. There is a small rectangular area that juts up in the middle. However, I got used to it and worked around it. In other words, the pluses far outweigh that issue!
                - Did I say very high quality construction!

I travel a lot with camera and case gets quite heavy as I carry on airplane with me. The sturdy construction and tag along wheels make this a big improvement over backpack cam case I was using. My knees thank you!

I found this rolling "Roadie II" camera bag in a Photo magazine and looked for and found it at B&H. This thing is fine! Quality is its defining feature. I have not found anything that I dislike about this bag. There is plenty of space for two cameras, several lenses, an external flash and other items you may want so long as you don't go crazy, as it is designed to fit in the overhead as a carry-on. I cannot see where this bag could fail with many years of service. The replaceable wheels add style and its general construction looks solid. If you want quality you will get it with the Roadie II.

I bought this to store lenses, a camera, flashes & small gear. It does just that for me. Going out to a local shoot, I easily load it in the back of the car and have everything I need available. It looks and feels solid except for the where the cover attaches to the body of the case. I have had no problem but it appears to me as a weak spot. I would hesitate to take it into rough terrain as I do my Tamrac backpack. Given what I have said, I would recommend it to others.

Best thing roller wheels - and carry on size.

I needed more space than just a backpack and a roller with a hiding harness was just the ticket. I chose Tenba because I had a Tenba bag since the late 80s and the quality is unbeatable. Plenty of room for two bodies, one with a 70-200mm mounted 4 other lenses, flash, external drive for the laptop, laptop, filters, camera battery charger, spare batteries...the works.
