The PowerShot ELPH 110 HS Digital Camera (Silver) from Canon allows you to capture images with excellent image quality, features, and technologies. Shooting large 16.1 megapixel resolution images using the 35mm equivalent of a 24-120mm UA lens, it also employs advanced image stabilization technologies and techniques to ensure your HD videos aren't shaky and your photos aren't blurry. This allows you to capture clearer, truer images without unwanted blur or camera shake.
With its 16.1 megapixel image sensor this little camera is still able to capture poster-sized images at a maximum 4608 x 3456 resolution. This gives you the flexibility to enlarge or crop any section of your image for printing or sharing online. The lens incorporates Canon's ultra-high refractive index aspherical (UA) lens elements for reduced size and image aberrations. Digital Image Stabilization ensures those images are as sharp as possible and not blurred due to low lighting, holding the camera away from you, or aiming at a moving subject.
The DIGIC 5 Image Processor powers all of the camera's advanced systems and features--ensuring you get fast, reliable performance with low battery consumption. Nice shirtpocket size compact camera purchased for occasional use when carrying DSLR is not convenient, i.e., too bulky or obvious. Like most "point and shoot" cameras, however, the "shutter lag" makes it unsuitable for moving subjects such as babies and sports. Most pictures taken of a barely moving 22-month baby were ruined by him moving his hand or turning his head. (Yes, I did press the shutter down halfway and waited for the best opportunity before shooting.) Compared to DSLR it is less stable because it must be held away from face and lacks some of the controls and features I'm used to. Initial impressions are quite good, otherwise, for static pictures.

This has been perfect for all of the pics I take of children, either in action, or just sitting still. Have not found a better camera at ANY cost that takes a clear picture-no blur. (The camera does have a delay after taking a picture with the flash though.) This is my second. The other is 6 years old and is still great.

I bought this camera primarily to take family
photos, mainly of the grandchildren.I'm still
learning as I have only used it on one occasion.
The pictures are clear & I love the larger view
screen.I feel it works better outdoors than inside,
or maybe I am doing something wrong.It seems to
have a long hesitation inside but shoots instantly outside.I need to practice on the video
but that's a feature I really like for little ones.

I bought this camera for the slow motion capability but I am very impressed with the quality of all the photos. I flew in a light plane the other day and took photos of many of my friends homes and even though I had to zoom in due to the altitude, the photos were very clear due to the lens and the image stabilization. I also like the way the movie works... just push the movie button instead of the photo button and it starts taking a movie.

This camera replaces the PowerShot SD1100 IS, which was stolen. If this camera is as good as the 1100, then I will be happy. What is a disappointment is that no manual came with it, only a CD. This makes it impossible to use it out in the field.

Another great compact from canon. Its no lightning fast dslr, but its focus it accurate and its burst is decent once focused. Of note, the low light performance is so much better than my 5 year old compact canon. The digic 5 really comes through and keeps noise at bay. My wife and I love it for trips and everyday stuff when its just not convenient to pull out the 5d mkiii.

This is my second Elph...lost the first one while on vacation, got another camera to get me through the end of that vacation and recently bought this one. There are many things about this camera I like, but my favorite thing is the quality of the video when I zoom in and out. I take a lot of video of our dogs at the beach and I can get clear motion with this camera. With the other camera, the zoom in was grainy and just not nearly good enough. Don't be fooled by the price. This is a good camera..lots for the money.

Easily fits in a pocket and does just about everything once you figure out how. That's an issue 'cause there's no manual except on disk. The quickstart guide that's included shows you how to turn it on, no more.
After downloading the manual, I figured out how to take snapshots and slo-mo video and it certainly does those things well. I guess the compact size makes the human interface difficult but I'm happy with the camera so far.

Nice shirtpocket size compact camera purchased for occasional use when carrying DSLR is not convenient, i.e., too bulky or obvious. Like most "point and shoot" cameras, however, the "shutter lag" makes it unsuitable for moving subjects such as babies and sports. Most pictures taken of a barely moving 22-month baby were ruined by him moving his hand or turning his head. (Yes, I did press the shutter down halfway and waited for the best opportunity before shooting.) Compared to DSLR it is less stable because it must be held away from face and lacks some of the controls and features I'm used to. Initial impressions are quite good, otherwise, for static pictures.

This has been perfect for all of the pics I take of children, either in action, or just sitting still. Have not found a better camera at ANY cost that takes a clear picture-no blur. (The camera does have a delay after taking a picture with the flash though.) This is my second. The other is 6 years old and is still great.

photos, mainly of the grandchildren.I'm still
learning as I have only used it on one occasion.
The pictures are clear & I love the larger view
screen.I feel it works better outdoors than inside,
or maybe I am doing something wrong.It seems to
have a long hesitation inside but shoots instantly outside.I need to practice on the video
but that's a feature I really like for little ones.

It is small enough to put in your pocket. Takes great pictures. Very easy to use. The only negative is a special battery pack that needs to be recharged. Fixed the problem by purchasing a backup. On the plus side, I won't be spending money on batteries.
