Comments about Canon VIXIA HF R32 Full HD Camcorder:
Good picture quality, lightweight, very portable. However, it looks cheap, non-professional. It is too bad there is no viewfinder. By using viewfinder, it could help save power, and easy to see during bright daylight.

Comments about Canon VIXIA HF R32 Full HD Camcorder:
When it comes to video products in general, Canon has the right idea. I like the fact that the HF R32 records in both AVCHD and Mpeg 4 formats, arguably the most up to date, and practical, consumer video formats.
I bought th HF R32 because of the large zoom capacity of the lens, and the 32 Gigs of internal memory.
The touchscreen capability works fine, but the user interface can be a little confusing. It takes a combination of manually exploring the menu tabs, and utilizing the user manual to become familiar with the camcorder.
Battery life is a considerable disappointment, one might go so far as to say criminal. Buy an upgrade like the BP 718 or the 727. Expensive yes, but that's life in a capitalistic society where profit is king.
Initially I was quite disappointed by picture quality, but I have since turned the resolution all the way up, and am continuig to evaluate that
aspect. This does seem to have improved video quality. The old addage about recording in full resolution, and then dummying it down later for the intended purpose would apply here. Of course this will significantly reduse recording time, but nothing an additional memory card wont help offset, so plan on buying one of those, too.
Something I don't completely understand about the product is that it says the Wi-Fi capability is built in, but it looks like it turns out you need an additional Eye-Fi card to actually utilize the wireless capabilities of the HF R32.
Now we're up to an extra battery, addional memory, and an Eye-Fi card to fully appreciate the camera's abilities.
Bottom line: I like the camcorder, yes I would recommend the HF R32--and Canon video equipment, in general. Reading the reviews would have alerted me to the anemic battery, and I could have better prepared for that eventuality. Work several extra accessories into the overall picture, and you're good to go.

Primary use is for taping sports games, mostly hockey. Does a great job, easy to use and produces great videos. Haven't mastered many of the features but simple to use right out of the box. One (very big) gripe is the battery life. Had to lay out more money for a decent battery. Battery that came with camera is terrible. only gets 20 mintes of videotaping on a full charge!

Comments about Canon VIXIA HF R32 Full HD Camcorder:
Indoors or Outdoors, the camera performed flawlessly. I needed a camera with enough horsepower to take HD video, yet simple enough to use that my wife could handle it without technofear. This is the camera that fit the bill. It's very compact, lightweight takes great video, and is compatible with my computer and software without having to go through any conversion stages. The 32gig internal plus the ability to add additional HD-SD memory cards make it a great choice for families who what to have those "K---K MOMENTS" to show off on the Big Screens at home.

I just purchased this for our church. It has been great so far. The mic input make for great sound that does away with back ground noise from the audience (i.e. crying kids). The functions are easy to get to and user friendly and the built in memory records about 9 hours of sermons. Downloading is easy. The only negative thing about it is learning all that it does.

Comments about Canon VIXIA HF R32 Full HD Camcorder:
I have been researching to buy an HD flash memory based camcorder for a few months. I ended up with an HF R32 in the end. The camcorder is easy to use and has a lot of great features. The touch to tap auto focus is great when there are multiple things onscreen. My only issues are battery life when shooting high quality (24fps gets you about 25min run time) and low light handling. Out side of that it is a great all around camcorder with excellent video quality. The wireless upload feature is nice to but the DLNA server function performs poorly and makes the videos hard to watch doe to constant start/stop streaming to a DLNA player.

Comments about Canon VIXIA HF R32 Full HD Camcorder:
My wife and I bought this camera because the smaller and lighter the camera, the more we actually use it. (Our first camcorder weighed as much as a brick and only saw daylight on Christmas and birthdays.) We also wanted to do away with tapes, because those can be a hassle to use, and we wanted to upgrade to an HD camcorder because it seemed silly to own a high-def TV and have the only thing we ever watch in SD be home videos (which is the only good thing on TV anyway).
I also used to teach a broadcast class at a public high school and among the other brands of camcorder we used (or should I say abused/trashed) the Canons held up best. (The others were JVCs and SONYs, which were so-so and decent, respectively, and Samsungs which were utter garbage.)
The fact that you can grab a few hours of the camera's highest quality video on built-in memory is really nice. Aside from the occasional kid sporting event (which seem to go on for days), we generally only capture a few minutes here and there. When manufacturers give you built-in memory it's usually woefully inadequate, but we're actually pretty satisfied with what the R32 can store. We got a 32GB card and being able to pop the card out of the camera and into the side of our iMac is tons easier than fooling with the cables needed to upload video from a tape camera.
The picture quality in daylight is excellent, but downgrades somewhat in interior light and is actually not that good in low light. (In reduced light settings the image becomes more grainy.) The image stabilization feature does, in fact, smooth out hand-held jerkiness but does so, in effect, by blurring the image a little while it's adjusting/adapting to the motion of the camera. Despite these limitations, however, we're still pleased overall with the picture quality, which is much better than other HD camcorders I've seen. Bottom line is you get what you pay for and there's a reason professional HD cameras cost many thousands of dollars.
The only real disappointment is that we bought this camera, in large part, because it's supposed to wirelessly connect with an iMac to upload video. (In fact, we chose this camera from a list provided by Apple.) Turns out, it doesn't. We upgraded our system software to Mountain Lion (OS 10.8) and the R32's last listed compatibility was with 10.7. I'm hopeful that sooner or later either Apple or Canon will come up with a solution.

I wanted a new camera with a remote mic input. That it has and it works well. The earphones are good for a basic sound check.
Picture quality is good, but battery life is a joke: 20 mins best. Even with extend size battery, this puppy eats power. Additional I miss my optical view finder, the LCD screen is too dim for much outside work.

Comments about Canon VIXIA HF R32 Full HD Camcorder:
Received this camcorder two days before a wilderness backpack trip. I was very happy with it's performance. Stabilization was great audio not so much. Short life on the original battery so bought two 727 batteries. Only bummer is that there is no manual with camera, only CD. Not handy so may buy manual. As stated, had trouble hearing audio in playback but that may just be my inexperience at this point. Zoom was far better than expected. Main use will be wildlife\hunting vidios so good zoom was primary requirement. Very happy with this purchase.

I use this to record my son's games. So I'm obviously not a professional. The quality is amazing. It is very light, the features are great. I couldn't be happier. I wish the battery lasted a little longer, but that isn't a big concern for me. B&H Photo's customer service is excellent. I will definitely come back!!

Comments about Canon VIXIA HF R32 Full HD Camcorder:
I bought this camcorder to replace an old Sony DV unit for my mother's birthday for use on our latest trip to Disney. I must say that in its small, lightweight form, it really does produce nice movies. It's very easy to use, and it is mom-approved. The only complaint i have is its low battery life with the stock battery on the highest settings. With image stabilization and the highest HD recording quality, the battery will only last about 30 minutes. But after speaking with Canon, they actually said that's normal with the settings selected, and told me to get the higher capacity battery. Other than that, the camera is really nice and worth the price.

I used this camera to record a graduation. It worked great, zoom feature, playback, image quality, image stabilization. All worked well. I purchased this for the amount of internal memory it has. I did not want to have to worry about running out of space on an external card. It is very compact. The zoom buton took alittle working for its size.
