Designed specifically for the Fujifilm X-series of interchangeable lens cameras with APS-C sensors, this Fujifilm 60mm f/2.4 XF Macro Lens is a short telephoto lens equivalent to 90mm in 35mm format. The fast, bright f/2.4 maximum aperture makes shooting in low light possible, and provides pleasing bokeh (the out-of-focus portion of a photo) with its 9-blade aperture design--ideal for dramatic portraits.
To take advantage of the X-series cameras' mirrorless design, the rear element of the lens is as close as possible to the sensor, minimizing the back focus distance appreciably. The lens construction includes a metal barrel, Super EBC coating for improved optical performance, and it delivers improved center-to-edge resolution and brightness free from chromatic aberration. This macro lens has a maximum magnification of 0.5x, and the aperture ring has 1/3-stop click stops for more precise exposures.

Comments about Fujifilm 60mm f/2.4 XF Macro Lens:
Issues first - focus may be slow - but still acceptable for my purposes. Secondly, the filter thread is recessed in the front so much, that step-up rings (specifically, Heliopan) do not reach deep enough to even touch it. So if you hope to have one set of 52 mm filters for the system - abandom that hope - at least for now. I did not see it mentioned anywhere, even after I asked BH to mention it on the site. Lastly, the rings on the lens are wide it is a bit inconvenient to mount and remove the glass - nothing to hold to for thicker than mefium fingers - I do not like to use moving rings to secure or release the lens.
A great lens otherwise. Wonderful for small product photography - ebay-like. Focus and aperture rings are big and nice and convenient to use (opposite of un/mounting :-)). Sparpness is awersone and DOF has a quick fall-off, so bokeh is easy to control. Sharpness - love it.

Comments about Fujifilm 60mm f/2.4 XF Macro Lens:
I'm really torn about this lens and so I returned it. On the one hand, I was looking for a decent macro that could make a decent portrait lens all in one package. The 60mm seemed to have offered that, albeit, at a slightly higher aperture then I would have liked. Unfortunately, the 56 f1.4 isnt due for at least half a year, maybe more, so I pulled the trigger to try it out. For started, AF is SLOW. Even with all firmware update, the lens was just too slow. Unless you are going to take shots of flowers not blowing in the wind, this is not the best lens for this kind of work. Second, f2.4 is just a little to high for me. Its about a stop and a half higher then 1.4 and that makes all the difference in terms of bokeh for an APS-C sensor. I felt like I got a blurrier background from the 35 1.4. Also,at this focal length, being able to increase shutter for sharper hand held shots at a lower aperture means that f1.4 is that much more useful then 2.4. Bottom line, this lens is too specialized for general use and so I am just going to twiddle my thumb and make use of the 35 1.4 until the 18-55 becomes available and then the 56 1.4 comes out. If my personal thoughts on it mean nothing, and this is the lens you really want, then I will say this... Image quality is out of this world. Fuji definitely got that right.

Comments about Fujifilm 60mm f/2.4 XF Macro Lens:
Best lens for portraits, good for macro. I bought this lens to complete the coverage of the Xpro 1 because I own a contax G2 with similar lenses but the Fuji lenses are more versatile. All the lenses can do macro but the 60mm was made for the job, just don't forget the tripod.

Comments about Fujifilm 60mm f/2.4 XF Macro Lens:
The lens is a little slow in it's auto focusing. It is slow but accurate. In low light it did do a bit of hunting. For one it is a slow lens, two it is a Marco and three the Fuji system is a bit slow. I Find manual focusing , for me, is ok, I find it modeate as speed goes. It is me for easy. Where this lens really shines is in sharpness. I am use to Leica lens. This lens is up there. I have a X-Pro 1 with a grip far. My other camera is a Leica M7 with 24mm f2.8, 35mm f1.4 (1) and 90mm APO, ASPH. I find the sysemts on to par with one an other. The 60mm comes with a great shade, big is better. Just get a good case and a Multi UV, you will be set to go.

Comments about Fujifilm 60mm f/2.4 XF Macro Lens:
I use this lens with my X-Pro 1. The auto focus is a little slow and goes a hunting in low light. The focus is dead on, when it gets there it is right on. I find manual focusing easer then what others have said. The lens is just shy of being a fast lens at f2.4. It is useable in low light. Where this lens really shines is it's sharpness. For the photos I have from this lens it is neck and neck with my Leica M lens. The construction on this is A+, it is very well made. I would recommend this lens for someone who would need or like the focal lenght and type (Macro). As far as construction and sharpness, I would highly recommend it. Buy a nice multi filter for protection. Great lens shade, some may think it to large, but that is the way the should make'em.

Comments about Fujifilm 60mm f/2.4 XF Macro Lens:
I have only taken about 50 pics with this lens but it is proving to be better for longer view street shots over the 35mm lens. I have downloaded the firmware updates but it doesn't seem to have solved the slow focusing issue. Surprisingly this camera has a lot of capability built into it somewhat over some DSLR's. To really use this camera's capability, I would suggest studying the owners manual very well.

Comments about Fujifilm 60mm f/2.4 XF Macro Lens:
Very sharp and light weight lens. Lens shade is easily removable and does a great job of shielding the lens element. Aperture ring is smooth and nice soft detents. Focus barrel is smooth and nicely damped. Optics are high quality and a worthy macro lens and for portraits and general purpose. Focus speed is reasonable, not in the league of a dslr but a nice purposeful lens. Recommend it highly.

Comments about Fujifilm 60mm f/2.4 XF Macro Lens:
I use the lens most frequently on a copy stand to do macro photography of flowers. The image quality allows me to crop severely and still get a good 20x30 print. It is light and easily toted to the field. I find the focus by wire arrangement to be a major negative, especially when trying to take multiple focus points on a close-up. A 1:1 capability would be more useful for me.
